Be aware that around Feb., March and April people get their tax refunds and are able to pay for their units. Things really slow down around those months.

Can you take anything to a consignment shop and let them deal with it?

Are you referring to the sellers or the buyers? :)

You sell your stuff to get more credits so you can bid on stuff. I'll give you an example.

I bought a storage unit for $5. Nobody wanted it because of the super heavy old furniture. This was the last auction of the day and I didn't want to leave with nothing. Turns out he had some gold chains, tons of nice clothing, and a crazy porn collection. I gave away the furniture to a person via Craigslist. They came with trucks and cleared out the heavy stuff. I sold the gold to a pawn shop for $560. I sold the porn on Craigslist for $50. I placed the clothing on Ebay for 60 with out any success. I tried listing stuff in lots , tried everything.

So now I have a ton of clothing. I offered the clothing piece by piece in Listia auctions. Everything sells on Listia. I offered free shipping on my items using $60 of my jewelry chain money. Items with free shipping get the highest bids.

Now I have a ton of credits. I need a new iphone charger so I used those credits to get that. While I was looking for the charger I noticed a Iphone charging case so I got that along with play items for my daughter, clothing for my daughter, PS3 games and accessories, Wii, cameras, Coach bags, etc.

Don't think for it as a way to make a profit. Think of it as a way to sell your junk from storage for other people junk that you can actually use.

The key is to sell stuff that is light and you can get the most credits for and barely pay anything for shipping.

I sold a vintage Warner Brothers bracelet on Listia. They had a ton of them on Ebay and way better looking than the one I had from a storage unit. The bracelet sold for 30,000 credits. I was looking at a Kindle Fire tablet that went for 36,000 credits that day. So basically for a bracelet that is junk to me because it not my style and wouldn't sell for much on Ebay almost got me a Kindle Fire that I can then flip on Ebay or Craigslist. The bracelet cost less than $3 to ship and I did get a Galaxy Tablet later for those 30,000 credits that I flipped in $125

I just thought this would be an option instead of trashing a lot of storage items like pot holders and used items that you would normally trash or donate.

I won't lie. If you sign up to this link and have your first auction I would get extra credits.

I have sold over 200 items from storage units on Listia since November 2012. It does help you to save money of items that you would normally purchase also if you have items that you can't sell you can flip them into cell phones, laptops and tablets that would sell easily.

It's not a penny auction. My son has had an account for a year with the free 1500 credits they gave him at the time and has not used them at all. You don't have to buy anything and no credit card is required. It's just an option to get rid of your storage extras that would usually go in the trash or be donated.

Craigslist / Re: Any successful Craigslist sells?
« on: July 06, 2013, 02:38:12 AM »
I live in Washington DC. Many of the workers here have government jobs so I get Craigslist sells in 2 week cycles. One week will suck and one week I will sell everything posted in a matter of hours. We have a million people here and I may only get 4 to 10 calls on upgraded laptops and cell phones.

You live in a small town sales are going to be slow.

I have sold some things through Ebay Classifieds in the past. Try that and maybe Facebook Marketplace.

Also you can try having a Garage Sell.

If you have large lots of merchandise from storage you can call a local auctioneer that will sell, catalog and store your items. If it's more on the junky side of merchandise you can still use an auctioneer look through Bidopia to find a local auctioneer.

I hope that helps you a little.

If you are getting tired of Ebay and Craigslist then Listia may be an option for you.
You can get rid of your unwanted items and get items that you want or need.
Nearly everything in working condition sells on Listia. Someone even auction off a roll of toilet paper.
There is another person that auctions off 1 crayon daily. They have a lot of items that women like such as purses, used clothing, used shoes and new stuff like electronics, shipping supplies, just about everything.

Try them out It's great for getting rid of clothing lots and stuff you just can't Ebay for a decent price.

I've been thinking about doing some NY auction because it's kind of dry here in DC but I'm thinking the storage auctions might be crowded there.

I'll check out auctionzip for Pods.

eBay / Re: Finally figured out the key to ebay selling...
« on: May 22, 2012, 07:57:29 PM »
What I meant was for instance on Ebay you can list your item as a Buy It Now for whatever price and it may sell because you have more than one item that the buyer wants or the buyer has bought from you before.

With Amazon when you try to list your item it their system will tell you if have the lowest price. Also they have an inventory where you can view all of your listing. If someone lowers their price or someone post the same item with a lower price you can easily see that in your inventory list.

That's what I meant.

I've been selling electronics, cables and computer accessories on Amazon. The key to selling with them is to have the lowest price for the item listed. I seem to get the most sales on Sunday night for some reason. Sales have been really good and I make more on Amazon than on Ebay.

che85mor if 1 person gave you negative feedback then your 56 rating goes down to 55. It continues to subtract every time you get negative feedback.

rulesforrebels if you have items with barcodes then you might want to try Amazon. Since it's not auction style you can list the item on Amazon and as a Buy It Now on Ebay at the same time.

I've given up on Ebay for the moment. I had some people not bid on some items but not pay for them.
I started selling on Amazon last month. I had some really good results. If you decide to give Amazon a try please be aware that you will not get paid for 30 days if you sign up for a new Sellers Account.
