Thanks for the info...it definitely helped me get going in the right direction. using the term slant front secretary bookcase really helped me find some similar items. I actually found one that had a different base but the exact same pattern on the glass.

every time I see the title of this post, I chuckle and think "If stupid people piss you off, then man are you in the wrong business." 
At every auction, I feel as though I am surrounded by some of the stupidest, shadiest, scum of my area. This does not include the hard working, honest, good people trying to make a living... but I think you all know the types I am talking about.

that sounds as bad as one I went to last week. 2 weeks ago there were no auctions at all (not anywhere near by anyway) So i guess people that spent that week with no bidding had withdrawals or something. Lockers were going for triple what I (and other people that I see often) thought they should of. In fact, I won our "price is right" side game we had going on. I pretty much nailed the selling price of most of the units we played. Basically I would say: I would pay $300 for this, which means it will sell for $850-900... sure enough, final price was in the mid $800's. This went on and on for most of the afternoon. Lockers that you would have to pay me to empty were going for $200-300.

I hope it settles down some this week. There is not a whole lot scheduled, but there is a big one (37 units) on Wednesday.

On the topic of flashlights I would say only about 5 or 10% of people actually have a flashlight thats worth a damn. I see people show up with these mini maglights like thats gonna do anything. I dont know about flashlights in terms of cnadlepower or any of that jazz but unless you have one of the floodlight types say a pizza delivery driver uses to spot houses your flashlight is pretty much worthelss on any unit bigger than say a 5x5.

I disagree. The new mini maglight leds are phenomenal. More than enough light for any size unit. You also have to remember, you people with the big ass spotlights are showing everyone else what you see. Why carry around a huge light when you can just stand next to the guy carrying the big light.
When I use the mini maglight, it is a more direct beam from my angle and less can be seen by other people. And as a bonus, I don't have to lug around some giant bat signal.

I have a similar situation. What I "try" to do is once I have made a decent profit on the "big stuff", I will just load up the smaller, sell able items and bring them to a charity. I figure they can use it and I will just take the tax credit. I do not have the space to keep a bunch of stuff as i do not have time for flea markets and there are only 2 yard sales in my community a year. (gated community, so monthly yard sales do not pay off)
