2nd episode was a little better than the first. Very little meat to the show though.


I'd like to know if he is getting a commission on the items he brokers?

Same thing down in the Tacoma area; LOTS of new faces coming out of nowhere.

Now, I've only been doing this since September 2012 - and yes, I got into it because of "the show" - but I've purchased 107 units in that time.  I hope that makes me a "cool kid" too! lol

Quite frankly, he should be held to task.

In this budding new aspect of the industry, all it takes is a story or two like this to ruin momentum.  If an online bidder can not trust that the facility won't guarantee someone won't go in a take "an item or two" then there is no trust.  Personally, I don't do business with those I don't trust.

Want to get your personals back?  Great, the buyer of the unit will give them back.

Where was the old man while the original owner was getting his "personals?"  At the very least - and it still doesn't excuse his actions - he should have stood watch and made sure only personals left the unit. I smell doo-doo a brewin'.

On a legal avenue, you bought the unit based on what was physically documented as being in the unit. One could reasonably make a credible allegation of fraud.

NOPE - NO SIR - DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT.

Up in WA, we MUST return all personals. That being said, I return all mail, photos, legal and tax docs, etc.  I also return "baby's first X" and stuff of that nature.

Since I don't travel too far for units, I will always return the items.  I box them up in NEW boxes as well with easy to read labels.  That professionalism paid off in November.  I was called to an auction by the facility manager because not enough people had showed. Shocking, I know!  There was a scheduling snafu so it got almost no publicity.

At any rate, manager thought to call me because I made a good impression on her. The unit I bought there was my "once in a life time unit" that has paid over 200x my $50 purchase.

Moral? I'll keep spring for the 85 cent new boxes from Lowe's!

I run every firearm through my local PD.
BUT, I learned long ago to bring in the serial number only; not the actual gun.  Took me over 6 months to get one back.

There are a couple who will remove guns if they see them.  I heard through the grapevine that one of them takes them home for "safe keeping."

I don't know why they do this as I don't believe it is a law here in WA that they must.

Any update on this?  Would love to hear more - especially on any sources in the Northwest.

Running a stranger up on a unit with no intention to buy said unit seems like a d-bag move to me.  coming online to brag about it just reinforces my opinion. 

I, for one, think my time is far more valuable than that.

Now, getting into a bidding war because it is still within your budget on a unit you think you can make a profit from?  No problems there.
