Hey everybody, my name is Tony and I'm from Austin.
I haven't been in the auction world for a while. As a teen, though, I worked for my dad who was an auctioneer. This was 1999-2003 in West Texas. Strangely, we didn't sell entire units like you see on Storage Wars. We actually parceled out the goods in the unit, grouped similar items into lots, and sold them one by one.
We once found a unit with nothing but a grand piano. It was a good find but it broke my heart that somebody lost it. Well, perhaps my sympathy was more directed to the person who had to move it into storage - those things are KILLER heavy.
Anyway, happy to be part of the StorageAuctionForums community.
