General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Wish people could just be honest

but I think most people are thinking they can throw down $500 on a unit; then sell $1500 worth of jewelry & collectibles on Ebay, another $500 on furniture to friends, family, or thirift stores; and just give away all the yard sale and flea market junk because they have already made sooo much money on everything else they don't have to deal with that.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Now why did You have to go and give away Our Business Plan .   ::)

 Hey Sidewinder
Don't laugh just yet , the cushions of that old sofa might have a priceless japanese sword hidden in them, let Us know what You hear at Sat's   Auction .
Also , don't knock those old patched leather/vinyl  sofas and chairs , I use to make a killing the first couple of weeks of the Summer , at the flea market on Cape Cod selling Colored Vinyl/Duct Tape to all the landlords .    ;D

We just use an old TracFone  for Craig's list etc. that We had for emergencies and our plan  automatically doubles the time when we buy any minutes.
( $ 10.00 gives Us 60 min. )  ( plus it is totally untraceable )

I must confess , I got all set up to watch the New episodes of both Auction Hunters and Storage Hunters/Forbidden Storage ( plus taping them ).
When I saw the credits with Ton in a $ 40,000. Bobcat , I switched to the "Really Fake Show " just in time to hear the Auctioneer shout out " A Wet Dream Of A Unit "  .
Instead of His usual " I Can Tell its a Good Unit , My Balls Itch " .                                         Sorry I can't give You Guys and Gals a report , I switched to  a Disney Movie .

I won 3 thirty footers 2 yrs ago , and My Wife won't let Me go alone to an auction , and My Daughter won't go at all .   ::)

There are quite a few forums out there now , and this one has them all beat hands down .
To answer another question that came up  ( I hide My answers in random post so they can't be found easy LOL )   on  a certain TV show that will remain nameless , the " Actors " were bragging that they  are paid $ 2500 a show ( definitely overpaid ).IMO

Mine was PartyCanopies.com   had it since 2003 ,  but with just the three of us and a P/T helper or two when I needed them .                                                                  I didn't go crazy advertising on Craig's etc. , like in previous years .                           I just have to take it easy with my " ticker " for now .
  Just rent out now to friends , Auctioneers 20 X 20 & 30 X 60 ( there runners set up/down , Wife collects check   >:(  , Rod and gun Clubs , ( they help set them up/down ) etc.
Just picked up 2 @  20 X 30's that were at a Aggi High School for three weeks for there summer camp , We just loaded and unloaded the trailer at our locker , they did they rest , and the check should be here wed.  ;D
My next booked rental is a small fair in Sept. with 6 to 8 tents and they have prisoners set them up . We just direct them .   ;D LOL

I'm not going to say it can't be done. Truth be told, I started out with about $400 of discretionary funds and through a lot of sweat equity and a hell of a lot of luck, I was bringing in 8-10K a month after a few months. Keep in mind, this was before the storage auction reality shows premiered.                                                       NOW DAYS , IT'S A WHOLE    DIFFERENT BALL GAME.
Boy , ain't that the truth ,  We refuse to Over Pay for a locker just to prove to some Newbie that has no clue along with more money then brains , that We do have the cash with Us . We would rather go home empty , in fact We go in a beat up 92 escort that gets great milage , and leave the Van and trailer at home @ 8-12 mpg .

You might have a good thought there , several years ago I did a warranty job for a air compressor company in an industrial park in Nh. and the building was piled to the ceiling with crushed alum. cans , mostly Ma. and Ct. deposit cans ? I asked one of the guys what they did with them all ? and he replied , He didn't know , they just kept adding to the piles , never shipped any out .

  Hi Sidewinder
Are You hinting that if We snowbird in Az. , Nm. or Tx. We shouldn't leave all our camping gear plus an RV in a storage locker for the Summer ?    ::)
I know that the Gold Mining Club We belong to in Az. locks down there campground that is 9 1/2 miles out in the desert from May to Sept. , but damn is it ever nice in Feb.  and March .    ;D
