You're slipping!  I made one on the 4th.....went to an auction and posted about it.....you missed!

Yep, I did miss that one. Say, are you still a moderator? I don't see that designation anymore; I think it's missing for Alloro also.

i havent been posting because im pretty much out of the auction game, I havent been to one in 6-8 months and havent bought anything since dec 2012
gave up the flea market too
havent had anything of value to post so i havent  :-X

And THOSE REASONS are very valid ones for not posting....in my opinion.

Like you I have pretty much given up on storage auctions. I only go to ones very close to home and that is primarily to socialize with the regulars who haven't yet given them up. If a GREAT locker came along I would buy it, but that's about it.

Like you I also gave up selling at the flea market after selling at the same one about 45 Saturdays every year for just short of 10 years.  Crowds down, profits down. Picking profits up with selling on eBay and Clist only.

No doubt...in my opinion...that there are others who used to post here who just aren't that into the auctions anymore and therefore have no reason to post as calcoast gal also said.

Cobia is using picking and wholesale purchases as his main source of items also. HGP still buys lockers but not as many and has been doing more picking the last few months. There are others too but I don't remember who they are at this moment.

Perhaps we need some fresh topics.

Well, let's see what your two new ones posted today do.  The "fancy" name for that is "innui".

The last 4 days or so the "only" people posting are Travis and I.

What's happened to HGP, RFR, Cobia, Teacher, Alloro, Calcoastgal....geez, that's a pretty small group to keep this thing going.

Edit:

I looked back through the last 50 posts (through part of Feb 4, 2014) and of those posts, 44 or so were made by Travis and I. BWD made one and Luke had a few. Alloro had a couple.

The Lounge / Justin Bieber Spiraling....down...not up !

I guess this 20 year old just can't handle the fame or the fortune.  I'm pretty sure if I had either of those things I wouldn't be behaving like this idiot and of course many celebrities do conduct themselves as responsible citizens but THOSE stories aren't going to make the news.

Still....get a clue...Bieber and his FATHER are accused of abusive behavior toward aircraft employees on a recent flight.

Why would a company give up a product that made it 2 BILLION dollars a year ?

If CAREMARK is part of your name it might be a good decision in the long run.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying to myself right now.

So, you ARE in a backdoor situation right now.

Why pray-tell was my post deleted, are you really getting that paranoid?

It's good to be the king. Only elected officials need to explain themselves.

I apologize, I thought you were insinuating that I was somehow inflating statistics on this site.

Nope, I wasn't implying that, but apparently when you read it you inferred it. People do that sometimes.  ;D

There is a fine line between art and vandalism. I was just painting over your graffiti.  ;D

You mean the very generic reference to the fact that ANY website could buy a service which would influence the view of how many people ligitimately went to the website?

RFR used to sell this service. Don't know if he does anymore.

See reply #4 and reply #9 above. These were both mine but they were edited for content by ..... a person who shall remain un-named here.

Also, I think Alloro had one post completely deleted, but that was because he responded to one of my posts, so with mine edited I guess his would no longer make sense.

Makes sense to me and it's still "good to be the king".  ;D

United Kingdom / Storage Auctions U.K. >>>>>>>February, 2014
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:03:12 PM »
After Alloro indicated there WERE in fact auctions in the U.K. I did a quick search and found that every auction source (auctioneers, forums, etc) just glommed on to the request but provide nothing but USA info.....until....

I found this link which actually goes to a U.K. address.  Click on the link and see what the story is about.

If you get in a Backdoor.com situation you will need more than divine help (or so I hear).  ;D

I got this from an email I was sent by Storage Auction Experts here in California.

One of the auctioneers for them made it on TV but for another reason; here's the story.

***

Craig on National TV

Many of you are familiar with Storage Auction Experts auctioneer Craig Plante. Some of you may not know he worked 27 years for the City of Modesto as a Police Officer and retired as a Sergeant. Just before he retired, he cracked a 9 year old "Cold Case Murder" and helped the victim's family have some closure.

In November, the TV Show "On the Case with Paula Zahn" contacted Craig to talk to him about this case. The National TV Network, Discovery ID, thought it was a good case to base a TV segment on, so they flew him back to New York to their studio for an interview. The show also contacted Modesto Police for background pertaining to this homicide.

A week from Sunday, on February 9th the episode Craig is featured on will air on Discovery ID. The name of the episode is "Cry On My Shoulder". In the Modesto area this show is on at 10:00 pm but different areas and different cable providers might have a different time.

We are happy to have such an outstanding professional such as Craig Plante to be part of the team with Storage Auction Experts. Very few people can say they solved "A Cold Case".
