Just looking MB    Thanks for the encouragement! I might have mentioned my cousin might be picking up and auctioning off most items. After that it's probably half of a truck dump run.

He seems to be a pretty big deal-movieman-thanks. A couple of updates. Yesterday my find of the day was a ww2 german helmet. I probably mentioned it (do not know if real or not) I had found a skeleton arm and leg, then found the skull. I rented another 14' uhaul yesterday. I just about croaked loading the truck today from the heat. I had a buddy take a van load of metal today. I have about 8-10 feet to go. There are several big furniture pieces in the mix. Btw-there is this long piece 12' of boat wood/ driftwood . Has anyone had any luck selling an item like that? I was thinking of cutting it in half, just to handle it easier. Good or bad idea? I also called the public storage 1  800 # this morning. I told the lady I spoke to the auctioneer( no help), no call back from the next level up. She gave me the number for the next guy up- called him this morning. As of this morning the $1 special is available on this size .  To the dump...

Hi Movieman-I confuse easily I mean I get confused easily  I have gotten units from public storge and rented  them for $1+ fees. But in my town this was the only big one.  I tried calling someone higher up the chain @ public storage- no return on my phone calls. There are other $1 available at this location, but smaller and indoors. Well the first truck will be hopefully dumped tomorrow.  Realisticly, 2 more dump loads and maybe a good vanload of auction stuff.  Quite a few from "deathtrap", 1 or 2 of the following- john wayne, paul newman, federico fellini, and one pic with 3 actresses; one being sharon tate. If I get motivated- I'll try to put up a few pics in a couple of days.

Maybe it's just the pleasure  of living in Nyc's shadow. Usually 10 year old box trucks with 125k miles are $7k and up. Iirc the last day I rented from uhaul locally it was $100+ for the day. Rollinradios- thanks,I added my location. Good point though about renting versus getting stuck with a pig. R4R- the ideal truck would be the single rear wheel cutaway; I probably wouldn't have a problem parking it here. I don't have a car either. I did look at a couple of fatties yesterday ( 1992 buick roadmaster wagon and 93 caprice wagon). I drove the caprice and somewhat liked it. It did feel way underpowered though. At the same time my fantasy about these cars was kind of crushed. After the test drive I got back into my wife's kia amanti  - jealous. Call me crazy- i'm entertaing the idea of getting a srw school bus. Thanks to you both -m

Any other cleanout folks here?So my dw is about to flip about 1- I don't have a vehicle, 2-not making any money, 3- having a hard time buying a vehicle. I enjoy auctions, but being realistic- it won't be enough right now to make a living. So I'm thinking of doing cleanouts as well. Vehicle has to be under 10k gvw. I will probably be doing work alone- prefer lowest possible bed height. I've never driven a trailer, some areas around here seem to be too tight for easy manuevering if I did. I'm kind of big- the chevy astro's driver's area was too constrictive after about a 1/2 hour driving. I also have a bit of arthritis. Would love the best combination of the following- takes a queen boxspring, could stand a refrigerator up, dumpable. I do have an underpass near my house ( about 9' high). I do prefer the weathertight capabilities of a box or van. Please throw some opinions- maybe i'm beng too picky Ps-would love any help for doing cleanouts too Thanks!!! -Mark
