They will also send fake us postal service money orders...always pay more and ask you to wire it.  You will still get screwed if you deposit and hold money for 45 days.  They come back fake...take 45 days...and cost 15 a piece to process when they come back.  I got scammed on the second half of that.  Got to pay 45 dollars to find out they were fake even when I told bank I thought they were and told them to verify first...back when cl was younger...8-9 years ago.  Always take money orders to issuer and have them check the numbers...NEVER wire anyone money.

First one has a small suitcase safe in it ...going for $2000k+ but in Arizona.

Second one has a fair amount of sellable stuff ...going for $300 I think but in North Carolina.

Thx for the advice listing on cl over next few days.  Will list half high half low and see how it goes.

2 "good/interesting" lockers but too far from home to bid on.  Went between 700-900.  3 guys in BMWs that paid too much for 4 lockers of crap to so-so.  Old timers took them to school.  The most vicious I have seen in a while.  They bought 4 units...one kept telling everyone he wanted to go drink beer.  Spent about $500 total and all of it went for "schooling".

I bought a locker that had a Sunn CL 190L in it with matching cabinet for $250.  Had a Peavey Special 130 (working) and a Fender 35 (working).  The Sunn will be a cold days project.  But will be really fun to work on and I will probably just keep it.  Trying to educate myself on better music equipment.  Half of a Peavey pa system...and a HUGE cabinet with a JBL 140K on the bottom...and a "no label" on the top.  No clean out necessary.  Looks like a quick break even with some Sunn 60's gear left over for me.  Daughter was a lot miffed because she knew there wouldn't be any profit in it for us (well minimal) and she wants to keep my nose to the grindstone .

...units were better quality than I was expecting though.  None of the furniture was in the 500+ range but the knick knacks were interesting.  Saw a unit with an early 70's Sears bike in beautiful shape.  All original parts.  Couple of guns and an original (not slimline) PS3 covered in dust.  The guys running the units seemed honest and I talked to a lady who had been doing that run fro 17+ years.  Generally honest no hanky panky SU owners.

My personal opinion is that...
1) They can't add.  I can't tell you how many peoples' "rent-to-own" furniture statements and HUGE cable tv bills I have found in storage lockers.
2) People that come from 3rd world countries or a poorer culture store stuff when moving...their lockers are usually 2% sellable.  Most of them you still find the yard sale tape with prices on the items.  These people can generally add.  Most of the time you find where they were denied permanent residence or something to that effect and then have to go back.
3) Garage overflow.  Too much stuff in the garage and they have to have someplace to put it.  Again...these people can't add.  The stuff is generally broken.  To me its valuable because it is generally high quality, I fix it up, and resell it.  Takes a ton of work though.
4) Someone died.  These are very interesting units...some profitable some not.  But they are a snapshot of history.  You find some amazing things in them...mostly all personal.
5) Shame material.  Advanced collections of p0rn.

CircuitCity.com  ...yes the company is out of business but TigerDirect.com bought the url and uses it for its closeouts.  I am currently typing on a Sony Vaio i7 processor 6GB RAM from there that cost $700.  You can get decent laptops there for 300-400.  Sorry just my preference.

You basically have to have all of your seller accounts set up.  I think we have 17 different markets although some are combined through Alibris (specifically for books).  If it sells on one market it will delist on the others automatically. 

Listings are automatic...i.e. scan the book, cd, etc. and it gets listed.  You can set up several pricing rules like average of lowest 3, lowest by a penny, etc.  They do take a cut though so if you aren't clearing 100-200 items sold per week its not worth your while.  My wife and I never have enough books or cds at one time to stay continuous.  She usually only lists the 4 or 5 out of 20-100 books you get in a locker because only 4 or 5 are worth anything.  For us the minimum is over $3 and a rank of 350k or less.  The rest I just take to work to recycle.

If your buying pattern nets you a lot of books or cds (we usually find empty cases with the exception of the last run) or you have a good source of books like picking, auctions, libraries, etc. it is definitely worth it.  The repricing alone is worth it.  You don't always have to manually reprice.

One word of caution...they do charge a percentage of sales.  I don't know what that rate is ...ours has been negotiated because of the large volume (my day-to-day job...not from SUs...my wife's job).  I am not endorsing Monsoon.  I am suggesting that if you have a lot of cds and books it makes things a lot easier and you can increase margin pretty significantly.  It is a good option.  They have competition with http://goindaba.com/ which used to be a mass of php scripts but it is probably much more mature software now.  Haven't looked at it for 6 or 7 years though.

alloro it is a success story for us...good mix of stuff which should show profit over time.  ...a couple of cool things.  One big learning experience (MJ autograph) that was probably lost...and a lot of work.  For us fun...for most people I see walking up and down the street.  Not so much.
