What's it Worth?? / Re: Sports Cards

as to your original question. I LOVE checking through them. I dont need a book or computer though. old good names always get checked, newer limited (like 1 of 300) get checked, all signatures get checked.

if you can see cards in a unit you should be able to tell what era they are from , from the door. that being said, i am proud to say i currently own NO cards or comics. was able to blow the rest out for $300

i dont understand how it would be worth it unless you were darryl sheets and found a bunch of fine art. Fine art is few and far between and if you DO find a piece google is right there

watched them today on demand. Not my favorite show anymore, especially since now I have to go out this weekend and compete with a bunch of Brandi and Jarrods

there is a market for everything. I WON'T pay a lot for them but i won't NOT bid on a locker because of anything really. I give everything about a month to sell then it goes to deep discount or the dump. If there is anyone in the clarksville tn area I can make you some REALLY great deals on bulk items. I turn and burn thousands of dollars in "stuff" every week

The Treasure Chest / my storage auction finds this week 6/2/2014

spend $450 total on 2 units. looks like itll be about $2400 gross after everything is sold. Nothing spectacular but there was a nice load of military gear, GI joe comics from the 80's. a ton of good sports cards and none sports cards, and a dagger/sword collection. i tried to add pictures but they're too big. I'll post again here next week when i get some more units. im only buying 2 or 3 a week right now until i can expand the store.

eBay / Re: How to efficiently sell products under $10
« on: June 01, 2014, 10:21:33 PM »
travis, i would find a resellers auction house and have them get rid of them for you. I don't personally deal with anything under $30 on ebay or amazon as time is money. Also space is money so if its pallets of stuff, thats a lot of room to tie up. This is totally only if you think its something where the price will drop off. If its stable I would try to sell it over the years as posted by LUKE.

truck and a 12 foot trailer, 4 ft sides, i prefer an open trailer as oposed to a closed one. I can pile  it pretty high. Also a custom winch and a ramp as i load everything solo(fridges buffets dryers etc).

I can tell you (in my area anyways) the average age is 40-60. Now if thats a true demographic around the country the numbers will be a bit skewed as i don't think the oldsters will be posting as much on a forum hehe

Craigslist / Re: Business for sale on Craigslist
« on: May 31, 2014, 08:04:27 AM »
right, and i don't mean to offend travis(seriously) but if you're making that much money for that little amount of work, you can't sell for as little as $150k. I mean seriously if this is something that can easily be teached hire someone for 10 or $15 an hour and STILL make $50k a year doing nothing. I just don't understand i guess.

I don't know if you would call it collusion, and i think most auctioneers are fairly legit. But managers on the other hand can be shmoozed. I for instance am going to an auction 2 hours early today to get a free preview before the auction starts. I also offer to buy units before they go to auction. I often get to use the facilities trash receptacles etc etc.

Craigslist / Re: Business for sale on Craigslist

there is flat out something fishy about this whole offer. you are making approximately $70 per hour running this thing and are willing to sell it for a pittance. If you have actual numbers showing 70K in profit yearly you will have no problem selling this business for 350-700k. Or is the 70k estimated and youve only been open a few weeks/months? I'm just confused i guess

Howdy, I've been doing this for years(but in Florida). I have quite a few contacts here in TN but am looking for more. If anyone here is near Clarksville(about 40 miles west of Nashville) let me know what you are interested in. My main focus right now are $1-$20 items that i have in BULK. I would not be interested in piecing these out but selling them in bulk at a huge discount(say 1000 items for $100-$200 depending on the mix). let me know if anyone is interested thx.-----ben
