I think I'd be making a trip to military surplus stores.....

Save a bunch to ebay but bulk out the rest.

Nice score.

What?  The world needs a good chef !  Keep pushing.

Funny.   However, I was a chef assistant for a few years. Until I noticed all the money is in the front of the house.

I'm going medical.   This is just a Medical Assistant program at local CC.  It's all I could get funding for.
Seems they don't like to give money to people that have physical limitation that would prevent them from doing the job.  Funny, huh?  :)

Not really the direction I'm planning on going but the degree will help. Most likely just a stepping stone   but MA's in my area make decent money so that wouldn't be bad either.    Still, I better enjoy it.   Major income cut.    I can't believe how little we pay people to save our lives but just dump money out for me to make your car look pretty.   Sad.

Sorry.  Been busy.

Trying to get into this college program.  No one seems to communicate.  Lot of running around....

Good news?   I'm accepted.
Better news?   I went in Monday and tested out of all prerequisites.

Bad news?  Funding isn't there.

Anyway......lthanks, its been fun.

I think craigslist did change their search algorithm. Used to be that you could type in a partial word and get results. Not anymore!

I've noticed that.   I've even started to add misspelled words in tag line.
Like: head light, headlight, hed light., lite,

All with and without "s" as Travis said.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Fooled by an optical illusion

Not so much fooled but took a gamble.  Little 3x4x4 unit with a few garbage bags and had a stack of extremely high end kitchen appliances.   Sure enough the garbage bags had actual garbage and all the boxes were empty.

Luckily no one else wanted to risk it and I got it for $20.  Lost $20 and an hour of my life taking stuff to dumpster but for $20 it was worth the gamle.

Did get outbid on one like yours.  Front was all stacked nice and neat. hidden behind that was just dumped in and total crap. Bid went high because down one side it looked like stacks of aluminum.  Looking at nice boxes and stuff we figured it was a machinist.   Main attraction was scrap.

Boxes held nothing and "aluminum" turned out to be steel and not much of it.

Guy paid $450.  Add in buyers premium and dump.....
I've never seen the buyer again so never got update.   I'm assuming he lost big and was a lot of work.  I had seen him a lot but he never bid.  I'm pretty sure by the way he acted that this was his first win.

Sucks because it wasn't even a newbie mistake.  Unit had us all fooled.

Weird.....I just did one in Seattle/Snohomish County last month and it was free.

Weird.   I just went to post one as a test and it charges $25 per section.
Tried different categories, different areas.....$25/ea.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Bidder has no money !

A preacher lies and deceives and doesn't honor his debts?  That's just wrong.

I've always found it odd when owners bid on thier own unit up for bid.  Sure, rare instant were you'll come out ahead but 99.9 time out of 100 its stupid.  You can clean it out now but couldn't three months ago?  You couldn't take the bid money and make a deal?

I think a lot of these people think they can skip out on a $700 bill by bidding $200.  Not realizing they still own the $500 plus fee's.    But then again no one seems to care about personal accountability  these days....everyone is a victim.

I've seen people bid&win and as auction continues they disappear.   None of the auctions here are real strict on sign up sheets.  So if you don't sign in and then walk they don't know who you are......

Buy the way MM is holding out I'm guessing the bid was really high......hmmmm........$1280?

Wait..... could people see the $15 store stickers from the door before bidding?   Then my guess is $620.

Personally I'd have walked away.  No place to store.  I can't see those being a fast sell in my area.

Majority sell on ebay for under $100.    I think I'd return it, especially if unit is already turning a profit.  I'd rather have the goodwill and good karma......

But here's an option.....
