Welcome to the Online Storage Auctions Forum / Re: abandoned unit

Check with your local dmv. Give  them either plate or VIN numbers. They can tell you if any money is owed or what is going on with the cars.

May cost you $5 or so to check each one, but so what.  After that they can then tell you what to do to make them your own.

DMV would seem to be the only option if you want to sell them whole. I doubt even a scrap yard would take them whole unless you could prove they were yours.

You could part them out and you wouldn't have to do anything else.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Finding Storage Auctions In Local Newspapers
« on: November 27, 2011, 08:14:15 AM »
Three days later, Nov 27, 2011...

The sparefoot site listed above is no longer a source for auctions, but has magically turned into a site where you can locate storage facilities (that you might want to rent).  This obviously has next to nothing to do with the intent of these threads.

Why waste our time mr original poster ?

I've dropped Drew a note about this.

Edit: Double-checked the website in question and I forgot to put  on the /auctions last time I looked.

HOWEVER, when I did it correctly and put in zip code for San Francisco, CA no auctions came up, but two places where you could sell your merchandise came up....like thrift shops.

Never will understand why you guys don't get your sites fully functional before you start promoting them, and the intent of this website still is an affront to this discussion forum....IN MY OPINION.

I enjoyed reading the story, but I was more interested in this comment from someone else who had read it:

Typical didn't want to pay the bill for the rental so she stiffed them. Imagine that.

Also check out sparefoot.com/auctions

Are you associated with this site?   If so, better get to improving it.

I looked at my zipcode and gave it a 100 mile range and it came up with nothing.

As there are MANY within that range even next week, I call this an UNMITIGATED FAILURE.

But, that's just my opinion.

...... and think it would be cool to at least go check one out and who knows, maybe strike paydirt lol.

Until the curtain is pulled back and the great and powerful wizard turns out to be homeless guy who has been living  in the locker and has only left behind bedbugs and a bottle of pee.  Now what tinman?

Lo and behold, today,  a challenge is issued. I'm sure most of you have read it. If you haven't it's in the General Auction Talk section.

At least for a while.

2nd half hour....

Barry buys the first one for $1,250.

Darrel gets #2 for $2900.

Jarrod gets #3 for $1900

******

Two shows back to back Barry buys the locker based on seeing an old trunk. Most I've found have been empty or with nothing of special value...maybe a quilt made in China by a machine !

Locker #4 coming up....looks great with antiques and other desirables.

Who will get it and at what price ?   The answer is: Despicable Dave at $3.8K !

Street lights, (at an unbelievable estimate) another stained glass window (made by Leonardo DaVinci according to Dave's value estimate).

******

Jarrod likes his goodies including a tatoo chair....Brandi would look good in a reclining pose on that one !

******

Darrel says he has "buyer's remorse" but knowing these guys it will turn into a gold (no a PLATINUM) mine.

******

Now a promo for SW, DALLAS ! Yee-Haw...Tuesday, Dec 6, 2011...Merry Christmas podners!  ;D

****

Darrell does score with a stringed instrument in perfect shape...$1,000.

Jarrod gets a tatoo kit from Borneo....$500.

Dave...boat kit...worth....$500 plus...would have been $6k if perfect and assembled.

Ho Hum....Hester only cleared $5,300.

Holy inappropriate Joke Barry.  Funny though

Barry: Yeah, I'm a cigar smoker but I like to stick it in brandy first.

Whoa....you go Barry !

Two new episodes tonight...so far Barry has bought one for $100 (might have a nice old brass telescope).

Now he's bidding on one and is up to around $900...Darrell thinks he is nuts.

Will report back in a few minutes after the "reveals".

****

Barry sells the "scope" lkr to Darrell...D hopes to cash in big on the scope.

Barry finds a magician's illusion box in this $1K locker and walks off the lot before even going through the whole lkr !
(have YOU ever done that ?) .... he doesn't even close the door, but when you have a crew of maybe 10 hanging around, who needs to worry? !

******
Promo for 2nd half hour shows the crew gathering around the table again for "unlocked"...those are more fun than the auctions themselves !

*****

Barry's magic trick...a bust.  Jarrod's lkr came through with a modern stained-glass piece.

Dave Hester....not there today...a nice break for all.

*****

Going into second half hour......not the "unlocked", but another site....Hemet, CA.  Hot, Hot, Hot !

In this picture is Brandi inviting us to ...."come on down" ?

MovieMan: It was in response to craig's comment above. Yes, getting off-topic, but still part of the thread. Maybe I should use the quote tool in the future.

I'll be cowering my head in shame should anyone need me.  :-[

Hey, I'm the one who should be bowing my head !  I thought your reply was to a comment in another thread...I didn't remember it was the second paragraph of the note above yours.

Sorry for calling you out incorrectly.   :'(

I love the idea of framing old newspaper/magazine clippings with other bits to make a nice piece. My wife does enjoy doing little crafty things, so maybe get her brain thinking about something like that.

That's a good answer....FOR ANOTHER THREAD !

Matches, your matching gears are slipping.
