$75 each isn't worth it.

That's a typo.
Asking $25 each or $60 for all three.

People are offering $20-$30 for all.  Like $6.66-$10 a tire.

And I've had people try to talk me down over "I have to pay to mount and balance"
So what?      You still have to pay that if you buy online or tire shop.

Craigslist / Tires.....again.
« on: September 10, 2013, 12:18:27 PM »
I've got more tires.  From past threads you know I hate CL tire buyers but not many other options for moving them.  Shipping is way to much hassle to ebay.  Used tire stores give you pennies for hem.

Anyone come up with any other options since my last rant?

Seems everyone offers way low for used tires with near 100%  tread.   I thought three, low-pro, 255s that retail for $175/ea would sell quickly at $75/ea or $60/3.   That's $20-$25 per tire.  They still have the little bits of rubber knobby things stiking off them.

Nope.  Get offers of $20, $30....for all.

Or pity stories, I'm a single mom, lost job, tire is flat......wants for free.

Really, I get them free.   I'd totally give them away to someone truly in need.  And it's all profit so sell price doesnt matter but still...its principle .....you can't get crappy ties for $20.  These are 60,000, v rated, all weather.

Today I got a Arc'Teryx Bora 70 backpack in pretty good condition for $10.  Has additional packs attached. Should get $50-$75 on CL.   I'd ebay it for more but it does have wear and would prefer the person examine it before buying.

Also got a sweet copper mixing bowl for $2.   Haven't fully examined it to tell quality but its heavy and hardly used. No wisk marks or dents.  If its one that sells for over $50 I'll sell.  If its a $20-30ish one I'll keep.  Rather have money but a nice mixing bowl would look nice in my kitchen.

I had the $3 off for making donation so mixing bowl was free...pack $9.

Almost got a backpack 4person picnic set for $20.  Never used. Assesories still in plastic.
Glad I passed.  Looked it up later and sells new for $29.99.

Other than the two good finds I was disappointed.  Store was pretty empty and prices were really high.
Thrift store across the street was bad.  The goodwill was filled with stuff that if we found it in a locker we would dump.  I couldn't believe some of the items for sale.  Ripped couches.  Desks with missing drawers.
And my favorite....a bucket of cracked golf balls!  Why would you buy cracked golf balls?  Art project?

Got a few good picks yesterday.
Best was a william sonoma copper Pomme Anna pan for $8!  Retails at $485!

Then got some pneumatic nail guns, one framing and two brad, for $5/ea.
Sold the framing one this morn for $30.  Gonna keep one of the finishing guns but not sure what I'm doing with other one.   It's a Harbor Frieght one. On sale right now or $20.  Don't know if I want the hassle of CL to make $5.  Might just give it to my brother.

Rest of stuff I got was personal, not for reselling. Some Henckel knives for $10.  Wide mouth food jar thermos for $2.  Couple brand new dress shirts for $1/ea.......

I was in SF until yesterday.  I'm in Dallas, TX now

SF was nice.  Hot but nice hot.
Most CA trips are either SF or San Diego.  But SD always seems to have a breeze.  Even if its a warm breeze at least there is air movement.

Dallas is like suck-every-bit-of-fluid-from-your-body-in-30-seconds hot.

Don't get me wrong, I like it here.
Give me a day or two and I'll be fine.   I'm a wuss with temp change.  Even at home it will go from 60 one day to 75 the next and I'm b*tch'n. ;D

You can do the change your number by spelling a letter so he can't search for your number. Or use a period instead of dash....
Same with name if you can.  Put asterisk at either end or something.

Also, don't list your business.  Make a really nice "sign" and post it in a picture with your store info.  You can take a picture or just screen shot a word doc....

Basically, change up anything he can search for.

You may also wish to go on another computer and search for your listings.   If its CL, a lot of times they will "ghost" our Ad.   YOU can see it but no one else can.   I've had them do it to me when I've listed to much.    If its ghosted then you know its CL because no one but you and them can see, so no one old be able to flag.

Additionally, CL usually won't remove Ad over one flag.  They will actually review.  In theory...
However, your account and IP is linked to flag.  The computer will see how many flags you have and HAVE HAD and pretty soon one person flags and Ad is pulled, no review, no content scan.

Try opening a new account and preferably on another computer.

What the fu....are you kidding me?

You stand around in this heat to attend storage auctions?
Maybe I need a few days to be climatized.  I have no problem being out but standing still, on asphalt?  Doesn't sound fun at all.

So?   Up in the PNW we are totally use to rain.  No big deal.  But rain = lower attendance, even tho they are indoors, don't know why.  To me, drizzle or downpour, wet is wet.  Doesn't stop me.

So do higher temps lower attendance here?   To me, 90 or 105......feels the same.  Is there a drop when the temp spikes?

I'll admit, if I'm flip'n channels and DD is on I'll watch it.  Mindless entertainment.
At least they are good people and educated,  not like all those idiots on all the other reality TV shows.....

Nothing like having six big dumpsters at work I can you for free as well as the box trucks, vans and pick-ups as well all for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Oh do I miss that!

Recyclers came to me.
Dumpsters.
Tire pile.
We even had HazMat bins.

Yesterday I dumped two recliners, a mattress, two tires, some broken down furniture and five bags of garbage (moldy clothes, boxes.....).

Cost:  $21.87

Didnt charge extra for tires or mattress.  That's the cheapest dump run I've ever done.......

eBay / Re: Why don't buyers leave feedback?!
« on: August 25, 2013, 10:51:52 AM »
If it's that important to you then wait for them to leave you feedback before you leave them feedback. Sometimes them wanting feedback is a motivator for them.

Good point.  I'll try it.

I wouldn't care if I had some history but I have NO seller reviews and only two as buyer.
I know a lot of people won't bid on items from people with no history.

Once I'm up to 10 or so I could care less.
