#3 Time... here I am at 12:20 am California time. First check of the internet today (or is it tomorrow? I'm not quite sure LOL). Been putting in 10 plus hour days all week trying to get ready for my big monthly sale tomorrow/today.

#11 this is not clean work. Be prepared to get very dirty. I have a friend that wanted to start buying lockers until she saw how dirty I get every day going through this stuff. I think she has reconsidered.  I smell like the crap out of this latest locker and everything around me smells like it. Every locker has a different odor that you get used to after being around it for a couple of days and most are not pretty.

Security tags are a tough one. There are so many different kinds and they all require a different devise to remove them. I worked in retail for alot of years and have seen many different tags. Post a pic or description and maybe I can help.

Thought I would start this thread and see where it goes. I repurpose everything that I can.

Cobia posted in another thread about selling a mattress to someone for their dog and that got me thinking. Several years ago I had a thrift store next to my work. One Monday we came in and someone had dumped several couches. The couches themselves were pretty broke down but the cushions were not in bad shape. My dog needed a new bed so I asked if I could have one of the cushions. That started a wonderful union between the thrift store and one of the local animal rescue groups. The thrift store has since closed but this gets me wondering if you could market couch and chair cushions as dog beds?

Whatever I can do to squeeze a few more bucks out of my locker I am willing to try once.

Auction today was 17 units so we were pretty excited. Turns out this company pulls everything out of the unit and sells stuff individually. First unit 3/4 done took 2 hours. We left at that point. Will probably not go to another one of their auctions unless we are really low on inventory and there are no other options available. There is only one more storage auction in our area this month so looks like picking will have to fill the shelves.

On the first picture if you take the lid off of the dish does the handle fit into the stem? If so it may be a wedding box. I  found one in the most recent locker I purchased. It is clear and I thought it was a compote dish.  After a few hours of research I came across several wedding boxes. They are very collectable.

I have been lurking on this forum for a while. The locker I picked up this weekend was a veritable treasure trove. I live in a Mission town so I took this Bible to have one of the Brothers look at it. It is very large and the original marriage listed is in 1861. I have researched and believe in it's current condition it is worth between 6 and 8 hundred dollars. The binding is broken but, if fixed it could bring 1500 to 1800 dollars. I have an appointment to have someone from the parish at the Mission that knows alot about this to look at it and give more info.

Here finally is my list of questions.
Should I have the binding fixed to make more money?
Has anyone dealt with fixing a book and how do I find someone that can do a very professional job. (I know if a bad job is done the value of the book can go down.)
Is this item worth listing with a high end auction house. (not some local mom and pop)?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated. I can deal with all of the furniture, china, silverware, tools etc. just not sure what to do with something that has such a potential profit and am not sure ebay is the right option.
