Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Storage Wars Texas...Fall, 2011
« on: December 28, 2011, 10:58:42 AM »
bwd111,

if you were on the show, you wouldn't mind if we called you inbreds?

that ll change your tune pretty fast if they came to you and said, we ll pay you to be on the show.

so knock it off..  If you dont have anything positive to say about the show, then keep quiet.

Not all Texans are inbreds.   I travel all over the united states and I have seen people worse than Texans but I am not going to name names.

bwd111 - take your bashing and your hate somewhere else.

I take it some of you watched 2 storage wars TX shows last night.  Did you see the 2nd show with the handicapped lady in a wheelchair?  did you see that old guy with the cowboy hat with overalls leaning to the lady in the chair?

that guy is what I deal with in my town, I call him the $10 dollar man.  He bids me up on every frickin auction there is, nickel and diming when Im going in 50 to 100 dollar increment to shake him off.

In the other thread, I was griping about him and some of you bashed me for it.

anyways.    ::)

last night, i saw the 10 dollar man on storage wars and I had to look the auction up.  The auction that took place in River oaks was October 10th (something like that)

he was on the show before I met him.

coincidence.

yep, i had to do the same thing,  I had to buy the gold and silver scratch pad and liquid testers.

I had to read up on how to tell and whats not.

got the hang of it and i get alot of silver in the storage auctions and various places.

Gold, not too much.

dont trust no jeweler or one of those gold/silver buyers.

test it yourself and know for sure.

good luck

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: First Auction and Locker

I have to believe that particular locker was staged.    ::)

I hate it when they do that just to pull a couple of dollars out of ya.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Young Children at Auctions

Im guilty of bringing my kid to the auction but shes 11 and she knows how to behave.  She knows it involves money and it takes money to make money.

she was quiet as a mouse when I was bidding.  she knows how to turn that switch off then behave and turn it back on to be a wild cat.   ::)

 :D

Hmm..

I just have to watch him then.

oh no worries, i ll be a regular..

speaking of regular,  i have an issue with this one guy.

every auction, he goes in and runs it up by 10 dollar increments.  I have never seen him win any lockers.  WTF!  why is he doing that?  Makes me wanna get in his face and tell him to quit that sh**.

last auction, i got into his face (almost but it ended up with a staring contest) and he finally backed off till another guy outbid me.  I was like oh F it.

how do i get rid of this man?  I tried dropping a locker on him but other people cant keep their mouth shut.

I had to research and found my answer by walking door to door.

I couldnt find the answer here on this forum.

This is in TEXAS  i dont know about any other states or their laws.

Answer - if you find a motorcycle or a titled vehicle in the storage, if they didnt see it, you go tell the office that you need a form that says:

Storage lien for licensed vehicle storage facility for a vehicle obtained on or after 9-1-11

Its a VTR =265- Vsf  Rev. 09/11 Form.

The storage will have this form, you will need a receipt from this locker you won and that form  VTR =265

Very important, you will need a certified letter that they sent to the previous tenant.  opened or unopened.  That proves that they abandoned it.

then you take it to the Dmv and explain that you got this from the storage and show a receipt and that unopened or opened certified letter plus the vehicle information.

The storage will give it to you but you must report it to the office or you ll catch hell from the police or the dmv because between the auction time to lets say the week after the auction, that guy could call it in stolen and you having "stolen" item on your hands.

So, that's my introduction.  I've been lurking here without an account for 2 weeks now.  I plan on attending my first auctions on the 20th of this month, but only have about 500 in seed money.  So we shall see what happens.  I'm jumping in headfirst.  If the price is right, I'm no lookie-loo.  Look forward to talking with you all.

i started with 300.

I thought i can get away with the smaller lockers because they usually ends at 2-300 , sometimes 100.

I ended up paying 700 for a big locker and i broke even.

2nd locker, i lost on the 2nd locker but went back and bought 3 bmx bikes from that guy.  I made 1100.

now im turning that 1100 to go full fledge in a big locker and hopefully i ll make some bigger money.  sometimes that is not the case.  You win some and some days your gonna lose money.  Be careful and selective on what you pick.  always look in the locker and see if you can make your money back at least and bid half and stop there.  dont get desperate, that is what gets you.
