If you want hands on information, you should call the storage facillity directly.
They will tell you when their next auction is.

So far i have a limit on 35 miles each way, any further away then that is starting to cost alot and take alot of time.

Just look at it in the big picture. And stay in there for the long run.

OHHHH and be ready for suprises in every way. lol

Compared to Storage wars it is a bummer.

I thought the show was lame and not really that entertaining.

Storage Wars is at least funny and it shows both the glory side and the back side of it. And it features real people who does it for a living.
This NEW show forbidden storage is just to fake, you can see it all the way thru.

I will stick with Storage wars!

General Storage Auction Talk / What is trash?
« on: January 18, 2011, 06:42:52 PM »
What do you consider to be trash?
What do you consider to be ok for reselling?
And what do you consider a treasure?

I would love to hear what you guys think.
The reason is, today at an auction, this guy got a unit for 5 bucks. 5 BUCKS! i mean, even if 80% of the unit is trash he would find something to make a profit on. BUT NO! he took it all to the dump, except for one thing that i told him not to throw away.
Later on in the day we stopped by a wendy's for a burger, and i showed him an add online, where they sold those candle holders for $79.00 if i haden't stopped him he would have taken everything to the dump.
He even smashed a perfectly good book shelf, (Ikea bookshelf) even that one he could have sold for a profit.

So i ask you all, what is trash to you?

It is one of those huge dressers.

In the sencond unit i got everything a man whants, lol.

2 digital cameras
One discman
A set of 4 marvel comic magazines
6 paintings

Brand new kitchen knife set, in unopend plastic wrapping

Since i nomally go on the whole tour * all the locations, i go back to the unit at the end of the day and do a quick search.
Mainly i just goes thru some boxes and stuff.  The main look thru happends when i have taken it all home. This becasue i tend to get a little excited when i find stuff, and i have to google it right away or find something like on ebay or other places.

I think i need a new phone that i can hook up to internet with and do it in the field, LOL

The "Other" Job / Re: My full time "other job" is
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:59:22 AM »
I am self employed, i own a company in Europe that build and sell power generator sets. We also sell steel buildings.
I own a company here in the USA that are into real estate end steel buildings.

Storage auctions for me is a hobby, or a side business, and i hope with time to open up a "new & used outlet store"
So far i have spent about 1500 dollars in total buying storage lockers. I have sold for about $3400  And that is only th last 2 months.
So yes you can make money on this, and good money.

But it is like any other business, it takes time.
Remember you have to build up an inventory, then you have to create a downline or network of buyers, this is not done over night.

But if you have some ice in your gut and have a long term goal, i think that you could turn both a 5 figure and a 6 figure profit on annual basis.

There are people who makes nothing from this, and they ***** and complain, but what do they do to make it happend? are they dedicated? are they at all trying? one thing is to go to auctions and buy lockers, but if you don't sell it it later on, what is the point then?

Then you have people who have made millions over several years, they do it because they have a goal, they know what to look for, they know how to sell it, and they create a network around them.

In all kinds of business and life it self i belive in the law of attraction, you attract into your life the things and reasults you think about and feel about. The book and the video called "the secret" provides good information about this.

So if you want to make money on buying storage lockers and selling your finds, then just go out and do it, and believe that you can. And be positive about it. And never give up!!!!! Never doubt your self or what you are doing!!!!

In this business you also have to do some legwork.
The best way to find out when and where they have auctions, is to call or drive around to the storage places. They will be more then happy to tell you.

They cut off the lock, and they put a new lock on it, together with a numberd tag that are sealed.

If somone goes thru the locker before the auction, then they brake both state law and federal law.
Most managements don't go thru the units. But you have bad people there to. I guess some can't just handle it the right way.

If you suspect it has been gone thru, i would urge you to make an official comment to the auctioneer about it. And report it to your state troopers office, (not your local police, they could not care less)
