As for those huge boxes with books, etc.  All I can say (while ducking my head) is a women packed that box.

Better stay ducking. !!!!!! No a man leaving his wife packed that box in a hurry. Or brought it in and repacked it in the storage unit while looking for his brain... LOL

Sounds like a good day.

Find it funny when we get bored end up getting into stuff that keeps us busy for days.  ;D
Making money is saving money.

The food find was good with you on it just came off the shelf. We have a garden (struggling with this crazy weather) to hot for winter crops and two cold for spring crops. In Florida have to grow fall and spring gardens in the winter, and summer crops in the spring.  ::)

Also raising rabbits, we are not going to starve.  ;)

Would rethink spending a couple hundred on a unit. Our best returns have been on the under $30 units.

Last unit was $23. Have sold $110 out of it. With tail lights left to sell.

Sell off your inventory you have cheap. Turn and burn. As mentioned in another thread of ads on CL of people selling the extras from their unit buys.

the teacher & craiglstauction,

Why I look at the ads, but if I do the #'s on what they are selling there is no profit. But to I am not retail (thrift store). Could see a little if we were selling retail but with the Flea and yard sales no profit. And usually it is stuff I already have plenty of.  ;)

But I keep looking.

Here are some selected lyrics from “Not California” that are appropriate to our biz.

Later on you’re breakin’ the boxes down

Come a time when I may just walk away

Guess we will have to use these.  ;)

AND IT’S NOT TRUE

AND IT’S NOT FAIR

AND IT’S NOT NEW

AND IT’S NOT CALIFORNIA HERE

My tax refund had little impact as to when I wanted to start buying.

It was merely the timing with my partner and our schedules that will lead us to likely make our first buy in March.

I would like to make an honest go at Auctions/Resale.

The idea of working for myself is very appealing.

Good luck but you need to put "WORKING" In all capitols.  ;D  This is a lot of work.

the teacher

LMAO Too !!!!!!!

Why don't you be a pain CL person and go check it out... Sure the $1000 he is asking for it is what he spent on the units, might include his gas and time, but doubt it.

Have seen ads that have stuff sorted and selling to a thrift or Flea Market vendor. They show pictures and they are asking $75 for one tote.  ::) Wanting retail with no idea how much effort it takes to sale the stuff.

I have told myself I don't need to buy another unit until I sell through 75% of the inventory I have right now, which hopefully I can do in the next month to 2 months. It's starting to avalanche. Trying to create some discipline so I don't always have hundreds to thousands of dollars of inventory taking up space. Then again, there could always be a unit come up "I gotta have"!  ;D

Good luck with that   ;D  Thought we were doing good with our box lot then got a bunch of free stuff praying for no avalanches.  ;)

craiglst~They are XP.  We've got the lot listed for $200.  we had an offer (texted) of $100 this morning. Countered with $150.  Countered with $125.  Countered with $135....never heard back.  It'll all sell eventually....but dang!  What's $10 bucks among craigslist folks?

Money~I am sooooo not a shopper and my husband is truly grateful! ;)

They are going to see how long you are going to hold out.

I am really a looker not a buyer. on the shopping scene. Unless it is a good deal.  ;) My husband is great-full too. Has to make me buy new clothes.

Also with Movieman there is someone out there to buy something to repair. I would have hesitated on it being broken.  My husband looks at me like nobody will buy that one GMC center cap. Had to replace one one time what a pain and cost. Before ebay time.

However, California auctions, contrary to TV show belief, are very similar to anywhere else.

No don't tell.  We hear a long with your favourite "You never know"  Is " This is not California" Your letting the cat out of the bag.  ;)

I had an email response to the KTO personal trainer.

" I have cash will you take $40? Live on the Blvd.  Can you deliver? "

Response "No I will take $50. (asking price) will deliver for $20. But you have to come out and look at it purchase it and then we can deliver. But can fit in a car comes in three pieces. "

No more response.  ::)

Have gotten a response on the kids clothes, Requested email response (do not have it counted out by size figured if they email me with what they were looking for then I can give them a count.) She did not send a phone #. We will see.

Like I tell my weatherman friend, imagine getting paid BIG MONEY for being WRONG 80% of the time!! ;)

Same here today - weather called for 80-90% rain.  Might have sprinkled for 20 seconds a couple times, but the sun was out by 2pm.   Good luck with your CL sales - seems it's been taking a couple re-lists to draw interest, but when potential buyers contact, they do three and four at a time!!

In Fl usually if they say rain it rains. Maybe a day late but it will rain. So far they are three days off. Think they are being overly cautious. We had like hurricane force winds about 8 months ago with no warnings. It was a mess.

We have a free online classifieds (started before CL) get more hits off of that than CL. But they review your ads before they post them and if they think you are a business they want post. Want you to pay for the advertising, it is cheap $30 a month. Have not felt the need to pay for advertising, but if the stuff at the thrift does not start moving might have too.  Offered the thrift half if she would advertise no response.

So I will be patient (at least try) and re-list on CL.
