that sounds great. Glad you have the patience for your return. And not a "greedy buyer" Will be sharing the wealth buy waiting to buy another unit.  ;)

We all have to live and learn in the beginning and sometimes even the pro's get burned part of the business. Our 1st bad unit is a little in the black with a table left to sell. Fortunately we bought two that day at the same place or would have been really bad applying all the gas.  ::)

So Movieman that is how you get your pictures so big. Not sure I can follow the mud.  ???

To attach pics the other way, When you post Left hand side Additional Options (in blue) Open it buy clicking on it and it has an attach Line just click browse and find your pic  they have to be small though.

On the fabric and craft supplies remember women can not resist it. Even I bought a tote of silk flowers at a yard sale  ??? I used some of it to make up three wreathes (also bought at yard sale) Hopefully will break even on the $ definitely not on the time.  :o Took some old yarn to the Flea had 20 women look at it, and had to touch it. Didn't sell to fine of a yarn (why I am trying to get rid of it) even tried the pitch it makes great eco friendly shopping bags.  ;D

But fabric is a feel thing. @ Cheeshead would be great if there is trick to it. When recovery chairs digging through my totes of material husband says "that color would look good" me "yes but I don't like the feel of it for a chair." ::)

good luck and sounds like you have done your homework.

Oh and your numbers look a little funny
Spent $860 ????? Or did you pay your buddy to help you?  Not that I do better I find mistakes in my spreads all the time.  ;)

D*mn! I need to move.   Might get $150 for a lazy boy if it's brand new, up a bit if new and leather.  Fred Meyer has off brand for $320 for two right  now....

But maybe I just don't have the outlets to move items for a good price.
Still looking for the people that will buy used shop vac's for $75-100 like they say on Storage Wars!  lol

Me too. Lucky to get $50 maybe $75 for a recliner.

@ Cheesehead

Good Lord !!!!!!!!!!

thought our prices were bad. Guess should stop complaining.

Yes a thrift contact is great. We were doing great (ours does consignment). But things have moved to a crawl do to the county not allowing her to put stuff outside.  ::).  That is where all our large pieces went usually straight from the auction, but now we are having to be more selective at the auctions.

@Money4

My sisster is a lil OCD, so she keeps everything very neat and organised LOL

She's always going behind me and fixing things that I just did!

LOL what ever works. My husband and I go around in circles.  ;). I hate walking around things (think because I am short takes twice as many steps as him) He always stacks things so you have to walk alllllllll the way around the building, truck, ect. I always say leave a path.  ::)

Got our storage / sort area so I have 3 rows of tables and two walkways so you can get around for the past month have had to move stuff out of the walk ways  >:(. Think he has got it now.  Really he just lets me unload the truck and helps with the heavy stuff.  :D He is pretty smart. LOL

My booth is at Southern Pickers in Tifton, GA.  Right now I am trying to sell a large quanity of clothes from my last two units.  None of them are the brands that would do well enough on Ebay to go that route.  There is not a consignment shop in Tifton that handles them so looking in nearby towns.  May end up selling them at the flea first Sat. in March.  Thankfully they were stored clean and are ready to sell.

Looked them up they pop up everywhere on google. So good advertising there.  ;)

Good luck on the clothes still struggling with the load we have. Thought I would do box lots of 25 pieces for $10. Got through 2 tubs and decided this is crazy.  :o  If we could do a yard sale this weekend think I could get rid of a lot of them. (has been successful in the past). Looks like rain all weekend  :( and only half of ours are clean  :P Need to get rid of the clean ones to have space for the ones I have to clean.

Just an update

Not to bragg but my space looks way better than most peoples there.

I haven't checked in a few days but I think I have sold about $160 since the first of this month.

What I have noticed is a don't have any larger ticket items, so I am taking over a couple of smaller pieces of furniture.  Most of my items range from $1-$25 ( I may have most things under priced).

Well give you guys another update soon....

That sounds good.  Making your space look good is the best thing you can do. In my previous life was a frequent shopper at antique malls and I had my favourite dealers and there booths always looked nice so I could see everything.

We are still looking, the closes place is a dump.the owners don't keep it up, I have seen booths that looked like something large had sold and they just left stuff everywhere. then again they are close enough for me to stay on top of that.  But they sell so might just have to do it and work our way to a better place.  Sure beats the stuff sitting here with no one to look at it, but the dog.  ;)

Have everything on CL not moving. ::)

At Craiglst I know we should plus we have never been to these facilities. Find quite a few of those at this time of year.  But with current inventory running short on Dry space. Looks like rain all weekend. :-\
We need the rain desperately, but wished it would come during the week.

MEANWHILE....

Picking is working for me. Good returns (some high) on hand-picked items. Fills the void between getting lkrs...any lkrs, average or great.

My friend has gone almost exclusively to picking and one other fellow has just started it too. We try to "outrun" each other at fleas (when shopping) and will take different rows if we think the other hasn't already been there.

Would like to see that, picturing it in my head hysterical. ~~0~~0 ~~~0 rolling. (coyote and road runner)
Beep Beep.

We too are picking (not like you) box lots, and free stuff. Our Box lot find looks like it will pay off well. May turn and burn some and sit on the the other for higher returns.  ;D

lol NO!   Some was Playgirl, and my siss said "look through them some could be collectible"  DON"T THINK SO I PASS,  she can look through them LOL

LOL  Husband agrees with you, let her look though it.

Rockin slow down and that door want hit you.  ;) Sounds like you did good.

Craiglst  Glad you got 3 and sounds like good prices too.

No auctions until Friday but calling for rain for Friday and Saturday, so with current supply and possible only one day to sell may skip it.  :( .

Wow!  I was just wondering if you hated it when the sneaky mousy girl landed a unit or when EF scored 3.......

 ;D
Don't really care who wins but I will support you on the sneaky mousy girl and dislike it if she wins.  ;)

My husband does not like it when our EF wins he is just an a$$. I missed an all most fight with him being an A$$ the other day.  was sitting in the truck it was cold.  ::)

Among the regulars I run with we have an agreement to "share" the wealth and not buy every locker we like and can afford.

If you want to take that literally.

By having or making any agreements that effect the final price is collusion and bid rigging just as he said. It is also a felony crime.

We have 4 regulars that like the kind of lockers we like. Person A IMO pays to much for lockers, So when we see him bidding we usually don't bid. If he wants it he is going to buy it. If we do bid against him we stop when it is over what we want to pay for it.

Person B and C don't like furniture but like stuff. If we see them bidding once again we bid to where we are comfortable or not. After auction is over we will either buy what they don't want or help them clean out for what they don't want for free.

Person A and B can buy every locker they see, so if they decide not to buy one is that bid rigging?  I don't think so.  We have passed on lockers because of the labor / time / and location is to much.

We attended an auction when we first started. 6 people showed up. 3 regulars. One of the regulars told us that they did not bid because we were there. they showed up to keep the bidding real. We bid on every unit. Only got one. And of course the only other person bidding said I let you have that one, which he did because he stopped bidding his pockets a lot deeper than ours. We paid a fair price for it. and the other 4 people could have bid on it.  "share" the wealth.  He also paid a fair price for the other 3 units he bought.

In this business everyone looking for something different, what they can sell (us falapartical board furniture) Which B and C throw in the trash or burn, we sell. We sell everything so we don't share  ;) So we decide to let them win a locker and buy after, (like we have that kind of control) but really why bid against them when the competition is so hard against the newbies.  Whether we bid on a locker or not there is always someone there bidding a way so the only effect of "sharing the wealth " is you are not bidding, does not "effect the final price " hence no collusion.

If only 2 people show up to an auction  ::) and they talk and decide to only bid up to $10 on units, the facility "has the right to refuse any and all bids" in most PN.  that would be collusion.

If you are talking about me (for one) I have consulted with my attorney and he indicates I have nothing to worry about when I ask one of my friends "Do you want this one? If so, I won't bid". He doesn't consider that bid rigging or collusion.

Classic  ;D

Not to step on anyones toes but several of you have publicly admitted to "Bid Rigging" and "Collusion"
which is a Felony.

I would advise you not to post anymore about " agreements" that you have....and edit what you have already posted

Where is "Bid Rigging" at ?

If you can live without a unit and someone you know wants it you just don't bid. They are still bidding against anyone else who wants it.

Running someone up on a locker is a gamble, you could win it.

That's right, but the fact they want to "buy them all" has to do with greed.

I haven't seen them around after buying them all.  ;D.
