Craig that is too funny we just spent time and gas.

We are kinda rural area, Orlando an hour and half away, Tampa two hours, Jacksonville 3 hours. So our choices are limited.  But looking harder for more box lots, Looks like we will do pretty good, If I can get my education in the porcelain, painted glass, Clown head music box..  ???  Glad a lot of the stuff I can just price and sell.

We delivered our desk. This is funny this couple moved from NY. The place they moved into we bought the guys furniture before he left. The couple said they offered him $300 for it, we picked it up for $100.

Oh the desk was made in NY. Saw the tag when we were moving it.  :D

Seeing more and more new people.  I don't know if it's everyone has cash so going auction crazy or what.  I'm just trying to weather the storm and not get too frustrated.  Buddy of mine said he may just take rest of the month off.  He hasn't purchased a locker since Nov.  Think he is getting a little frustrated.  Told him we will just have to borrow the box truck and hit Atlanta or Savannah one day.  Try our luck there.

think you got it. On the money too burn.  Last auction saw a lot of new faces but were regular auction buyers (you can tell). So guess they are travelling to us because their area bad. ???

One of our regulars lives south, said it was ok a lot of less advertised auctions so we may travel south.
Think we are good with the OTHER BUYING for the month. Looks like we bought 2 lockers - the clothes, but have enough of those to be out of 5 lockers.  :)

Get your mom to start cleaning out a shed.  ;).

Wishing  you and your buddy luck.  ;D

Most likely, he's NOT selling the stuff he bought, cause he didn't have a sales strategy prior to purchasing his units.

Just sayin'.   ;)

Or he needed to furnish his house.
We see those too.  ::)

Wished they had them more often.

Have found price stickers on some of the stuff, no wonder it did not sell.
But we are going to get a crash course in smalls.  :D

The Storage buyer we ran into there told us about it and another one he attends, he has a rented antique mall space. Now just have to remember the other one. (told us about it months ago. )

Just got the free stuff unloaded. Got a TKO personal trainer II punching bag that should sell well.

Looks like we bought 2 lockers.  ;D.

It is going to be a good day delivering a desk we sold to someone who came out and bought something else. Desk is out of our personal stuff, they are into antiques so showed them our hoarding space.  ;D

They asked about the desk, it really was not for sale but I think we have 3 desk. ???  I like desk. Oh well getting rid of one today.  ;D

Only a clueless noobie.  Got on to my husband talking out of school about a unit and what was inside. We were not bidding, He said we were not bidding on it I said but our friend was.

We have an EF also. Only ours likes to dump units on noobies. He tried with us he was lucky a noobie jumped in.  And he keeps to himself, have never spoke to him (his choice). The more he sees us the better it is getting. Did see him get beat up (bidding) at an auction, it was sad.

He is also the one saying did you see the safe / gun/ starts trouble only when there is a lot of noobies.  :D

The mousy people are only around for one or two auctions. But there is always a new one in their place.  :o

Keep your cool Rockin don't want to see a post of the cops coming and arresting an auction buyer.

Oh wait might deter noobies. Go for it !!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

LOL Craig, I have an Aunt like that, except she is a picker and thinks her stuff is gold  ::).

So I just get a cut for her stuff. Think she will get better as money comes in.

Still working on the facebook angle think can get more free stuff from family members.  ;D

What ever works at this point,  with lockers so hard to come by.  Two auctions this week and one next.  :'(

I am hoping these two pick ups will keep us afloat for the rest of the month, waiting on the furniture to move at the thrift. Going to go pick up a bed from there and put on CL just to get it gone. She is having to store it during the week, rather have it for sale than being stored. She had several lookers this weekend hopefully it sold will find out this morning. So trudging a long. Still working on the clothes  ::) :o :P :'(
LOL

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Best way to get a large quantity of product?
« on: February 13, 2012, 07:08:00 AM »
Here in Fl. the different names have to do with the zoning. Thrift owner trying to do a Flea market on a vacant piece of land. (our idea, but she rents from the owner  :-\ ). Anyway it has to be called a swap meet. The thrift owners husband was confused too.  I laughed said it is location, Swap Meet = Flea market. Said we might do better as a swap meet (Yankees here all winter  :D ).

Glad you did well. We are heading out next weekend. Should be warmer.

Heya Money~freezing in Florida???  I thought there was this global warming thing~ 8)
Good deal on the auction house thing.  We've been pondering it.  Will have to check it out in the very near future~

Global warming !!!! Think it is just shifting.. Was 45 all day. Suppose to be in the 20's. Don't think I will be out much tomorrow.  :P

Posted a pick of what we got, we could have done better if we got there for a good preview. the prices were unbelievably low.  If you find one and it offers a printer friendly lot list print it.  ;)

Shoompy  you could also post an add yourself that you will pick up left over yard sale stuff. Post before people or after ???? post their Yard sales.  See adds like that all the time and in my previous life I would have called some one to come get it.  ;D

Have seen adds with the phone # scambled like abc-def-ghij   222-333-4445 Or a combo of #'s and letters so guess it has been going on.

We have not gotten any yet. Thank goodness.

Box auctions, pallet auctions, refurbish auctions - they can all be good places for items.  I know most of the storage buyers here sell totes/boxes of simular items at the auction house.  I've thought about it but have never done it.  Will have to attend one day and see.

Have not gone through what we got, had to unload then go to my brothers. But I think we will do well. Working for now with no lockers up for grabs and large item inventory rich.  ;D

The thrift is picking up but not fast enough for me.  ::) So maybe in a week or two we can grab another unit. Only a few auctions for the rest of the month.  :'(

Newbie here!  I love reading this list, but doubt I'll ever be competing with you for a locker.

Welcome and glad you are not competition.  ;D. But yes the info here is great. I have been impressed with the recycle ideas.

And an old freezer works great for dry critter free storage.  ;)
