Please cite your source. Thank you.

Edit:

Never mind; I just googled it. Here's one of the links and in it they quote THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER. I know I always go to them when I want the straight scoop (especially on aliens impregnating earth women)  ;) .

Sorry, MovieMan, but my post was directed at bwd. He has over 250 posts on this forum and 235 of them are reports bashing SW with info he has researched, from ratings to contract info, to who knows what.

Just seems like a lot of time and effort on something he claims he hates.
Looks like I have a stakler! Thats for taking time out of your important day and reading up on me. Sorry to bash your favorite show on tv. Now I see how you felt when you found out wrestling was fake. Sorry to give you the truth on the show you cant wait to watch. .lol.lol.

I think at this point most people realize that reality show participants are paid, regardless of any scripting that may be going on. And by the way, they should be paid. You want to follow me around with an on-site producer, boom operator and cameraman and have me do interview segments on top of that, you better make it worth it for me.

What I'm curious about is why do you, as someone who claims to hate the show so much, spend so much damned time researching and reporting and "whistle-blowing" Storage Wars?!?

As someone who enjoys watching the show, I spend far less time enjoying it than you do hating on it.

Hell, do what you want, but it seems to me you would be better served spending your time doing something productive.
I dont do any research on the show! Saw the prep that comes in the radio station and there was a story on storage bors.

Glad you support that magazine! Someone has too! I get my info from the prep that is read on the radio stations here at work. Then saw that glendon did  a story on youtube 30 mins after.

I knew it! Now its public and people that that kept saying oh the show is 100% and know no one is getting paid! Well Hester wants the cash.  See you have the good the bad and the ugly in the show. The show is scripted and paid actors. Feel kinda bad for all the newbiews that watched the show thinking it was real then jumped in after watching the show. Well monkey see monkey do.

I'm sure with the popularity of the show they may be getting paid more.  Also, it wouldn't surprise me if they are going "celebrity" or "publicity" gigs on the side.  Then add in the ton of foot traffic that they are now getting at the store(s) which may of increased sales, even with increased prices.

It's like Covington just outside of Atlanta years ago.  They use to film "In the Heat of the Night" tv show in that small town.  Local guy sold all sorts of souvineer stuff from his store on main street.  You could watch them film, etc.  The show brought in many people to the area that normally wouldn't of gone.  Thus, more money, more buisness, etc.  Now it's all part of Atlanta for the most part.  Some of that is urban sprawl I suspect, and other part just growth from the show/interest.
I bet they dont even work in there stores hardley ever! They probably hire workers and just check on the store here and there. From a tv show to selling stuff in our store would be a downer.

A metal pedal car that was made in 2005 and thinking it was made in the 1940's. uggg

Dave Hester is a real person and NOT  "Made Up". Dave actually started out as a furniture store owner. He was convicted of a D.U.I. and part of his sentence was to work in a local GoodWill Store. Seeing how much that could be made, he then turned his store into a thrift store. Now he has Newport Consignment (auction house) along with Rags-to-Riches (thrift store) . Dave is actually a good hearted person and in my opinion not the guy he is made out to be he's just competitive.
OMG!

It is a real store, and he does this for a living.
Yeah he is also a person on the show, and we all know what kind of person he is on the show.

Just like radio people. They are real people but different on air. Its what makes entertainment. It's so funny that A&E never said the show was real but yet people assume it is then bag on the network for something they never made a claim to. Lesson is never assume!

431
Dave Hester is a made up character just for reality TV.  What you see on that website took weeks for a Hollywood prop department to create!

YEAP!!
WOW! Did you think anyone on this forum really was beleiving the show was real?

I'm more interested in the moving show then anything.  Watched a little pawn stars last night.  Mostly flipped between weather channel and dumbies on wheels.

Anyways - the coke stuff I would of loved to have.  The prices seemed high on the show for the bottle but the crates were accurate for my area.  Of course we are in GA and thus have many coke collectors.  Prices for coke items like everything else are down.  5 - 10 years ago the prices they were quoting for the bottles I could see.

Saw 4 of those sewing machines in a locker back in Nov.  Locker went for like $1100.  Guess they were watching storage wars to get their values.
Me too. Guess we can add the new show to the bank of Picker sisters, and the hog show A&E company made. I give the new show 4 weeks.

I doubt the deletion scenario; perhaps post #20 above is the one in question. On the surface it looks like BWD just reposted (a quote), but if you look one line down from the first smiley face and go 10 words to the right BWD says something about farm animals.

My main complaint is not with the show's bidders per se (though some aspects are alarming), but rather with the human beings who are the producers of the show.  It just seems to me to be such an OBVIOUS (attempted) CLONE of the original show that it is insulting to the viewer.

Also, the details of the characterizations of each of the bidders is bothersome. Some producer glommed on to the idea that "yupp" had made its way into our lexicon SOOOO....we now have "Bring it!" and "Right here" as new possible catch phrases for the lookey-loos to shout at the next auction we attend locally.

Also, the very poor ways in which the lockers are set up has been mentioned by several people. I think Craig*** mentioned the very unlikely presence of a $7,000 inkwell in a lkr that had half a dozen pieces of rental furniture. If there had been 20 boxes in there too it would have been more realistic (but still fake).

Then there was the single cowboy hat in a six drawer chest to go along with the separately stored snake hat band and other snake items. Some producer or assistant didn't use too many brain cells there.

Just a show that begs for critical analysis all the way around, and the loopy bidders there are the easiest things to attack first. So this show definitely deserves 1/4 of a "Yee-Haw! on the popularity scale and that would be a limp "ye"  from me.
Sorry for the confusion. The animal thing I was talking about was I would have more respect for  A&E if they did a show called Storage animals where you have differant breeds of animals like dogs, cats, lions, bears, deer, beavers bidding on sheds. Its a parday thing on the show. Jarred would be Squirrel, Dave would be the panda bear, Darrel would be the bear, Barry the dog. Meaning the show would be as riddiclous as the texas show. So have no idea why the person got mad!

bwd111,

if you were on the show, you wouldn't mind if we called you inbreds?

that ll change your tune pretty fast if they came to you and said, we ll pay you to be on the show.

so knock it off..  If you dont have anything positive to say about the show, then keep quiet.

Not all Texans are inbreds.   I travel all over the united states and I have seen people worse than Texans but I am not going to name names.

bwd111 - take your bashing and your hate somewhere else.

I Think you might have read the wrong post! cause I never have even used the word inbreds or anything thing bad about Texans as my grand-ma is from texas. I did how ever say the show is stupid and that I did watch first 15 min of the show tuesday. So you might want to re-read all post. Think your upset cause we all can't stand the show and you feel left out. Sorry for the confusion. Nice try thou. The show sucks
