Yea it was a 10 x 30 almost full. From the door you could see a Honda Valkyrie motorcycle, a riding lawnmower, a Donkey Kong arcade game, and other furniture and boxes stack out.

Well I hope they are not setting there starting bid by whats in the unit but more for what is owed for it.

I listed the Zippo lighter on ebay after my post Monday night starting at $9.99 and got a bid that night.  3 people have it on their watch list so I hope it will bring more.  There was a lot of Zippo lighters for sale so they may be getting to be hot again.

The problem is that there is a lot of them for sale.  That is what keeps the price down.  I see  lot with zero bids one them.

They are not done yet, The next one will Storage Wars N.Y.

and...

Lookee here what I done saw....

a promo on SW original for SW Texas starting in March, 2012...season 2.  Yikes, season one went fast...don't know how many episodes it was, but didn't seem like more than 6 or so.

I think this will still be considered season one.  The plan was to do 6 shows and see how it goes.  If okay it was to do 10 shows.  It looks like it it has been picked up with new shows coming in March.

The "Other" Job / Re: My full time "other job" is

I worked as a printing press operator for 35 years.  I have done offset printing and also printing boxes.  About 3 years ago I had a work related injury and unable to do that type of work. At this time I am not working.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: How far are you willing to travel?
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:39:37 AM »
I try and stay within in a 30 mile range.  Now if I decided to double my travel distance I get maybe 5 x the amount auctions that I do now. a 60 mile range would put me in Baltimore and Philadelphia area's.

Zippo lighters were hot about 20 years ago.  As far as the ones in the photo's I would say no. You would probably be lucky to get $5 a piece for them.  But hey put them up on e-bay and see what happens.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: ST site

I have not had a problem with spam e-mails at ST.  For a while I thought this was the forum for them.  Then I saw they had their own forum section.

Now being that this is Storage Auctions Forum how do I get to the storage lockers listings on here ?

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Auction Hunters is FAKE!!!
« on: January 19, 2012, 08:20:17 AM »
Haven't watched AH since SW started on the same night about 3 weeks ago. Be interesting to see if AH numbers go down because of that programming move on the part of A&E.

The AH boys just find too many great things...I don't even care if they are re-enactments of things they have found in the past; a good disclaimer at the beginning of the show (assume that's still on), but show me one of the 80% that don't make 10K sometime...hell, I'd be happy to see them pawning the rest of the stuff off on some other buyers, or paying someone to make the dump run, but until that happens (and pigs fly) I'll go with the less fake (but still fake) SW episodes.

I had to laugh onetime when they were in Florida.  They talk about all the stuff they had take to a flea market and in 6 hours they sold just over $3000 worth of stuff.  I want to take stuff to that flea market.

I'm still up in the air if I want to go out today.  Yesterday was a little crazy.  The auction that would get 15 bidders had close to 50 and prices were crazy high.  Not one of the regulars even bid on any lkr's  never mind win one.  I did not go to the next one after seeing what I saw.  People come and bid to high and lose money and you don't see them anymore.  The problem is you lose one and 5 take their place.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Opened storage lockers
« on: January 19, 2012, 07:43:07 AM »
It is hard to say.  In my area some locks are cut the night before and some are cut as they open the locker.  Does anyone go threw the lockers ?  You just never really know.  The owner of the locker  could show up 5 mins. before the auction and pay-up.  If something was missing someone might have some explaining to do.

I'm heading out the door to household auction today. The storage lockers have been far and few between. Those that  have been going off are going way to high.  Next week looks better as there are 3 maybe even 4 going off.
