Yep, just google a general term and location and refine from there.
Think I'd use Atlanta as your base.  Just takes some leg work and time.
Not to many people are going to give up their buyers to you.

Tho Atlanta has doll appraiser and recondition facility. Saw that when I was researching someone else's doll here.....maybe they can help you.

First off, I've found that the 'Digital Millennium Copyright Act' allows for systems to be jailbroken. Perfectly legal. Though it voids the warranty.

As far as unlocking, it's legal as long as phone isn't still property of carrier. Basically, the phone can't be under contract.
AT&T announced that they now authorize the unlocking of their phones after contract has expired.

Working on the owner of this little scary convience store that sells used phones to let me learn on some of his.  And picked up a pay-as-you-go phone to practice on. Don't really like putting money out but figured worse case, everyone needs a burner from time to time. ;)

Also, at some point your going to look at something as a good base to an art project while your partner see's it as sell item on it's own.

I've run into this with going in with someone in parting out a car.
'75 Porsche. My plan from start was to part out cheap for some quick cash,
Suddenly 'partner' see's how much they sell for restored and wants to go that route.
I didn't want to invest another few grand and couple months work, he wanted the higher profit.

Point is, in a partnership you need a clear cut business plan from the start and I see to many variables in your situation.

I personally would go it alone.  You two could always buy/trade/barter your inventory to esch other based on what your goals are.  If he doesn't want the "junk" maybe you can get it in return for cleaning it all out of the locker.  He can sell your good items for a commission.

New?

I've had pretty good results with just selling out of my trunk. Though for coats id suggest a garment rack for the backseat.  Yes, it's getto but sometimes ya gotta do what'cha gotta do.

Outside bars at closing. Sidestreets catching foot traffic to swaps/flea's......

I got rid of over 100 Forman Grills and cheap DVD players in a weekend at almost retail that way.
Was an accident. Getting gas and someone saw them in my trunk, asked about, made a sell and got a lghtbulb in my head.  lol

Can't say it's classy, but works.

Just watch out for cops.  ;D

Online Storage Auctions / Re: Online Auctions Reach Central Texas

Yeah, browsing thru the pics of lockers and few I liked....untill I saw current bid.
Couple are way more than I'd pay but still in "likely hood of profit" range.

Just don't know if I could bid on something thru pictures only. I have a hard time with online SHOPPING. I gotta be there.
And like someone mentioned elsewhere. You don't  have the 'nose test' in pictures. Mildew. Rat urine.
Can't tell if it's infested with ants or something.....

Or see if every single box up front with the top open is actually empty....or worse, filled with last years subscriptions of People Magazine!

Not that you'll ever need it but I got a hydraulic kit from Harbor Frieght years ago. Mainly for the press for  various autobody projects but it had a cutter. Like a mini jaws of life. Pretty cool. Had to play and cuts thru the most protective locks!

Just a future FYI for ya.   ;)

Well, got excited for a sec cause I found s simular one. Yours has the same look as those in the Zseymour Mann collection. But all those are marked, back of the neck.  So if this isn't marked it's back to the hunt I go!

Might be good if it's NOT a Mann.  Those were sold on QVC. Home shopping network. Mint condition valued at $75. More likely $25 range in this economy since all for sale are not selling. And since yours is dirty...

Search for a stamp or some identifying marking and let me know.

At least I'm learning something......learning I don't want to deal in dolls!  lol

Perhaps I got the wrong impression of this website. I assumed that the regulars were making a living at buying and selling at the storage unit auctions, but sales results from another tread makes me think otherwise. Profit of a few thousand dollars is definitely a hobby, you need to be clearing 30 or 40k at least to make a living at this.

You CAN but for the "risk vs reward" there are better business options.
If you do I'd scope out industrial lockers rather than your average personal lockers.
They go for a lot more, harder to find and contents are usually I s very niche' market so selling options are limited.

I have a job, pays well and I love what I do. But one, I want to give my family more than what my salary can provide. Two, I'm not a come home and watch tv type. I gotta keep moving.

I'm a grinder. Don't put all my eggs in one basket thing.
If something is only bringing in $200/month but you have 10 things going.....it adds up.

Go sit at a flea and make $200? That's $800 at the end of the month. To do what?
Socialize. Spend time with kids. Actually TALK to kids. Teaching kids about an honest dollar, money, business. There's a lot more to it than the money.  At least that's what I see. 90% of sellers are cool and it's because this is their view. 10% are in it just for the money and they are always angry, condescending, know-it-all, *ssholes......

I am that guy. Not the kitchen wares type stuff.
I just have buyers and contacts. People bring me what they have and I either buy low, with full disclosure that they could get more elsewhere, or I take on consignment of sorts.

More towards ur question, the "low end crap" you speak of is some peoples bread and butter. Quick ad on CL and, for the right price, plenty of people are willing to take it off your hands.

Don't understand the "humble" remark?  I just don't enjoy selling at flea's.  Don't look down on people that do.

I know less than nothing on dolls. But I'm laid up and have nothing to do so researching this might be fun....plus added knowledge on a subject is never a bad thing

So.....
Is it just the face that seems porcelain or arms too?
Is there a full body and is it the same material as the face and/or arms?
And do her hands have fingernails etched in or are they smooth?

Grab a magnifying glass. And search entire body for a slight engraving. Read that some are marked ever so slightly. Maybe just a circle or a letter. And could be in an area that it looks like a manufacturing error or something.

Do the clothes have a tag anywhere. Doesn't have to have writing, just a lip of material that looks like tag.

And look up inside, all around, the doll and box for an inspection number. Little sticker or piece of paper.

No promises. I'm just bored and stuck in bed/house for while.

A lot of auto auctions have gone web based. Good side is we can get cars from Hawaii to Miami without expense of sending guy out there. And they've all got shippers on stand by so don't have to line that up.
But have been screwed. Mechanical is always a gamble but have pictures and descriptions of "clean" "perfect interior"....and they come and smell like death or dented from hail or.......

I like to be there. Look at it.

Side story: my buddy got a 2009 tahoe ltz for $17000. Auction description said "major paint defects and multiple dents per panel"
Thought for the price it would be worth it.
So gets it and "paint defect" was it was a rental and auto car wash had finely scratched entire thing. Dents? Little door dings that took and hour to rub out.
Got the car. Hour on dents. Two hours to cut/polish and sold two days later for $32000.
After expences made $11,000 and some change.

So it goes both ways on bidding online......

ok, thanks guys.  Just to correct something someone said, they do have the plated bottoms.  They are made in France.

If they do have the heavy gauge bottom then I'd keep them if, as you say, your current set isn't very good. You will notice difference  for sure!
I love the handled Rondeau. The sauté pan thing on far left. New, that was probably a $100+ pan if you bought it individually.
Those are great for browning off meat then straight into oven.

Like was said above, if you need the money I'm sure you could get $50-ish.
But sometimes not spending money IS making money.
you got a great product there that, taken care of, will last a lifetime.
Grab a cook book and enjoy them! :)

You may do well on eBay since your listing would be against all the eBay stores overpriced listings.

If people don't research and see $75 new and then your used.....

What I meant to say before with pricing cookware is, for example, I have an Emeril pan that on HIS site sells right now for $125. eBay and various sites, $60-90.
I got it at Ross for $15!

The stuff is so overpriced to begin with and prices all over the board......hard to say what used would go for.

Cookware is a hard one to price. Those look like the home edition. Industrial usually doesn't have glass top and have solid handle's.

I love cooking and trained under a French chef for two years out of highschool (before deciding the kitchen wasn't my dream) so I'm only good for a cooks view, not a flea sellers view.

But I wouldn't pay more that $5ea piece.  You can get new, same/better quality, at Ross for $10-25ea. Less per piece if you buy set.

And I believe those dont have the added, thicker, base plate (bottom)?

I'd say toss ur stuff and use them yourself.
Quality cook sets make all the difference and make cooking more enjoyable.
