eBay / Re: eBay Buying Guide about Storage Auctions
« on: April 19, 2013, 06:42:22 AM »
good article, though the author ( electrogames ) states mostly obvious points and the negatives but does provide some insight....here's the thing though..eBay does these promotional educational pieces all the time...they are usually featured "experts"....but wait... delving a bit deeper..according to his feedback this particular expert has sold ZERO items on eBay this year and has ZERO items for sale on eBay currently.... so once again, you've got to take into account who's doing the talking,,, someone who is an active participant, working hard at it...or some sideliner doing his monday morning quarterbacking pointing out what you should be doing...

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Auction Hunters is FAKE!!!
« on: April 19, 2013, 06:16:41 AM »
let me get this straight...Allen Haff wants to sell a "landing bag" for movie jump scenes, that he just got from a storage unit..so he climbs up an old building (he's gotta "prove" the bag works to score the agreed upon selling price)....,leaves on his SUNGLASSES...peers precariously over the ledge...stands up straight to commence his dive..then.."CUT , where's the stunt guy???"... insert stunt man, edit taping..and perfect flip to land on his back, sunglasses and all....BIG PROFIT,right?.... wait,wait... according to some internet research (ehow.com) on StuntMan wages. " TV Minimums.... Stuntmen and coordinators get $809 a day, or $1,081 daily for pilots in the studio, or $1,406 daily for pilots on location. Weekly rates for stunt performers, coordinators and pilots are $3,015, though pilots receive a $927 adjustment for flying"... hmmm did that get deducted from from the "profit" total at the end of the show?

This was in todays Jacksonville CL "wanted" ( not free category) yet looks like he wants free unsecured money...hmmmm, wonder how that's working out for him?....

" Broke need $100,000.00 to start over"
" Hi my name is ____ and I need $100,000.00 too start my life over. The only thing I want and will never give up is my daughter and my dog, they are the only parts I want in our new life. I understand $100,000.00 is a lot of money but that will help me buy a house, a van/pickup or box truck and help me start a pressure washing business. If you can help please email me at _____@gmail. Thank you for reading this post it is a serious post and I ask only serious responses.

Ramona Flea Market in Jacksonville, FL charges 50 Cents... the place is really BIG ( largest or 2nd largest in the area)...they get away with it and to me there's plenty of "action",, I only bring my $5.00 and less stuff though and sell maybe once  a month for my clearance/tired of looking at it/need the storage space....Vendor prices are reasonable

What's it Worth?? / Re: Are trophies worth anything?
« on: April 11, 2013, 11:16:56 AM »
just looked at the "trophies martial arts" listed in the last 30 days on ebay... 78 listed with about 25% actually sold... sold prices ranged from $2.00 to $60.00. Quite a few individual trophies sold in the $8 to $20 range, with a "LOT" of 18 small trophies went for "make an offer'' on the $60.00 auction

Craigslist / Re: Free Templates for my CL ads....
« on: April 10, 2013, 05:01:40 PM »
thanks, I've been doing CL for a few years, mostly the old fashion way, which looks like the way to go still. Just kinda wanted to set my ad apart from everybody else, but I guess keeping it simple makes sense.

Craigslist / Free Templates for my CL ads....
« on: April 10, 2013, 04:07:28 PM »
.. I've been using a free provider ( http://www.use.com/info_temp.html ) to make my presentations look better.Lately, some of my ads are not showing to the public . They do show me they are live on my control panel (obviously on my own computer),so I have no idea which ads are corrupted or not.I have to ask friends to go on their comps and say "can you see me now?"..lol... anyway any suggestions/ideas/tips/new provider info would be appreciated, thanks

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Setting up at a new "flea market"
« on: April 02, 2013, 06:57:23 PM »
Biggest question for me would be "how safe is my stuff?" security,lighting,fences,etc...if it's secured and the terms are ok,like some of the rest state, sure, why not.... The biggest hitter in this area and I have slowly come to be congenial, he's big in thrift stores and swap meets... I consign some larger / bulkier stuff with him ( and he actually MOVES it! and SELLS it) and I do a lot of ebay listings on stuff he consigns to me..so in mho I think broadening contacts always is the way to go
