The Lounge / Re: Remember this blast from the past ?

You've got to have some good ones. I sure do with my little band of thieves. One day the wife got so upset with them that she wanted them gone. I don't think it was even 3 minutes later that I had her suitcase down out of the attic and laid out on the bed for her to start packing. That was the last time she ever game me the. "it's them or me" scenario.

Hedgehogs are cool.  Best thing is they eat anything so if you run out of thier food, whatever you made for dinner...toss it to them.
They'll hang out with you.

Then I got chinchillas.   Cool but a pain in the *ss!  They have attitude.  Won't eat the same thing two meals in a row.  Will look right at you, push bowl off shelve then start screaming at me until I bring them something different!  lol

Ferrets don't eat roaches.

I had a hedgehog.   New People moved into apartment next door and within a month my apartment was infested with cockroaches.    My hedgehog ate them like candy......and died.

Now I'm sad.    Thanks guys for the memories......     :'(

Craigslist / Re: I think I lost a sale...
« on: April 09, 2013, 04:01:47 PM »
FYI, when relisting an item and increasing the price like you did, always use different pictures. People will remember the pictures because they're visual and easier to remember.

Yeah, I've learned that one.   Different angles, different background.....

I've done that with relisting.  If no one bites in first 48 hours and its something I just want to move; I'll relist with totall different pictures/background and description and mark the other "SOLD" but not pull the ad.    People must think the other sold fast, this ones a bit cheaper.....better jump on it!

Haven't done it but 2-3 times when I really want something gone.  Probably against he rules but I haven't been flagged so.......

This couch is part of a sectional (I'm assuming) arm on 1 side, nothing on the other side. Is this sellable?

I've seen people use them like that a lot.

Especially in 'libraries', dens, or bedroom.  Gives a lot more open look, casual appeal.   Great if you have a loft and don't want the bulky look of traditional sofa.

Craigslist / Re: Stupid Questions From Craigslist Buyers
« on: April 06, 2013, 02:25:59 PM »
I actually know a fellow who loads similar kinds of things into the trunk of his Honda ....

I had a 2008 2dr Civic for about a year.  Amazing how much you can fit in it!
Car didnt really fit my lifestyle so upgraded to a 4dr Acura.  Bigger back seat. Bigger trunk.
Can't fit anything in it due to body design.  Inside is roomy but door/trunk openings suck!

.........
Stupidest questions?

Can you hold it until next month, I don't have the money right now.

Selling broken iPhone for parts:  is it still under warranty?   (Yeah, I'm just to lazy to send it to be fixed)

Selling end tables:  can I take them home and see if they look good and send you the money?

Selling tires:  can you knock off a $100 cause its going to cost me $80 to have them mounted....

The last one confused me.  Even if it made sense to lower price because of mounting cost, which it doesn't.    How the heck does it make sense to lower price $100 if it costs you $80!?

Craigslist / Re: Craigslist Flakes...Let the 2013 Flake Count Begin
« on: April 06, 2013, 02:08:40 PM »
Finally sold the poker table!  Talk about flakes!
Took 18 contacts.  12 'just stopped contact', 3 no shows and 2 show up in a CAR .....to by a TABLE!
.................
Guy made the obligatory half *ss 'what will you take' but didnt press it further than that.  Paid $200 asking price.

Priced it to sell, could of got more but really needed it out of the garage before it got damaged. Already have had a few 'oh sh*t' moments.

I'd like to read the opinions from the three judges that voted the other way.....

This seemed a pretty open-n-shut case that the kid did no wrong IMO.

What's it Worth?? / Cox gas powered model car
« on: April 01, 2013, 10:06:04 PM »
I've found the car only on ebay.  People are bidding but to far out to gauge price.  $15-$75 on various models.
This one is the 1960 Buick reviera.

The one I found is in box, plastic window slashed, gas/oil stains.
Has manual (stained), unopened accessory kit, tools and original eye droppers to add gas.  All things no other seller has.....

Car runs but a little beat up.

I was going to ask $150 and see how it goes.

Anyone ever come across one of these?

I'm a Kroger brand drinker myself...

I agree with the above, spoiled brats.

I am a spoiled brat when it comes to coffee.  Buy the best.  Make with a French Press.....

But I can't dink it these days.  Caffiene is not my friend.  That how I got into chicory.

Half the coffee, half that chicory.  (If u normally use 6 teaspoons, use 3 coffee & 1 1/2 chicory)

Nice smooth flavor.    Takes a while to perfect.  Wrong measuring and you get bitter yuk-ness.

First came across it in New Orleans.   Had a cup of "coffee" and no jitters.   Then found out it was only 10% coffee.  Mostly chicory and milk.......

Also like Camps....

Funny you should mention this because I was just looking at a condo last week up for auction.
Went for $145,000.   Tax rate value is $320,000.

But seems that us that don't have "real" jobs are not likely candidates for bank loans.....

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Box Truck or Enclosed Trailer?
« on: March 29, 2013, 09:09:27 PM »
Just starting out I'd say trailer.  Don't want to dop to much cash.
In fact just a flat bed(open) trailer could work and cheaper.  Around here you can get them for $500-$1000 depending on size.

Might want to rent a trailer and see how it works for you.  Can be tricky driving them....

I've had their coffee and if you're correct I can honestly say that commercial is guilty of false advertising.

What?   Dunking coffee is great!   I specialed ordered it cause u couldn't get it here.

Then switched to Cafe du Monde's brand.  Coffee and Chicory blend.   So much better than straight coffee.......

Got a cheese board, brand new, for $3.99.

sears (dot) com/picnic-time-festiva-cheese-board-w-tools-square/p-SPM6764235303?prdNo=18&blockNo=18&blockType=G18

Also a Italian made grey camel hair sports coat for $6.99
Nikon tripod for $4.99
Made in Japan tea kettle for $4.99.

With $3 coupon it came to just under $20.

Already sold tripod for $20 so I'm even.
Hope to get $15-$20 for cheese board.
$20-$30 for coat.  I'd like to keep it but it *just*  fits so will try to sell it.  If not, lady at Sunday market should give me at least what I paid for it. Its her type of thing.

Researching kettle.   Looks old and all that but not sure.   They've mass produced so much, even if its old it may still be worthless.  But I liked it so took gamble. Worse case,  I like tea.  Maybe this will get me to make it properly and not just stick a mug in the microwave......
