General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Oh yea, good unit.
« on: February 04, 2013, 10:17:48 AM »
sounds like a big unit, you cant really go wrong getting a big unit at that price bound to find some good stuff. downside lots of trash runs and a lot of stuff to move

eBay / Re: Would you leave negative feedback?
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:40:57 AM »
this is the problem with ebay people so quick to jump the gun and get upset or complain. it could be when he taped the label on that tipped the weight to the next ounce. i would pay the 20 cents and not be a whiner but im sure if he brought this to the attention of the seller they would happily pay it over gettnig bad feedback. people shoudl contact people and try to resolve things before getting rude and or leaving bad feedback or opening up cases.

one of the things that annoys me most is when people start getting rude and threatening right off the bat. if i made a mistake i will correct it nad even give bonus items to make up for the mistake but it really ticks me off when you get some jerkoff talking like im gnna get in my car and drive to you  and saying threatening stuff. id like to invite them to and bust their head open but of course gotta keep the 100% feedback and do the im so sorry ill make it right thing even though i would have in the first place

there's very few items i will put alot of time or effort into as i dont thik you generally recoup that investmetn over just selling at a discount but some items can fetch 2-3x the value if you take the time to repair or fix them

I often think of that as a bad sign, the tenant falls behind pays right before unit goes to auction then takes some good stuff out of unit, same thing happens again and next thing you know its just clothes and garbage in a unit.

As for clues I like looking at magazines if they have them. One of my best unit magazines were surfing magaznies, watch collector magazines, forbes and money. all stuf having to do with expensive hobbies or a high paying career.

Craigslist / Re: Do you deliver?
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:23:17 AM »
with items like furniture if you have a truck to move it its definately a selling point as its a huge hassle and expense to have to rent a truck to go buy a couch or something. one thing i often do with delivery is make the person come see the item in person and pay in person before delivery. i find sometimes people have you drive to their place and then try to renegotiate the deal and they have leverage at that point since you wasted time and gas money and want to get the deal done

ya i woyudn't waste time pricing or displaying these items but a tote saying everything $1 doesn't hurt and isnt much work

i never liked him what a whiny little b. i also think its kinda lame he's happy to have the publicity for himself nad his business, he got paid handsomely for being on the show. he was happy t be on a "fake show" and sell merchandise and then he gets mad at them and wants to "out them". what a whiny little baby

Mike cool to see you on here. I was just curious if the notoriety of being on the show has helped your auctions business? reason I ask alot of times I see ebay sellers selling something like say a mp3 player and in the title they wil put "found in storage unit auction" like thats going to help it sell. i could care less wher it came from if i need it and if its a good price it will sell. wondering if your finding your items for sale get more interest or if people are jumping at the gun to do business with you just because they know your face know your name nad your on tv. i imagine it cant hurt. btw very cool to see you on the site.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Disney Items In Lockers
« on: January 29, 2013, 01:38:15 PM »
stuffed animals or fabric stuff i normally throw in the garbaghe normally worn or people fear bedbugs and kids buggers but anything else books, lunchboxes, figures, etc all sell well in my experience. i bought one unit that had a collection of something like 25 or 30 disney snowglobes made a kiling off that

ive never really paid attention to wheterh we hav them at our flea market/s but we do have guys who sell scrap old watches and currency so it woudn't surprise me if they bought and sold gold andsilver as well

569
obviously not worth the time to sell them on ebay or craigslist but at garage sales and flea markets i do a lot of dollar items, heck a lot of .25 cent items with people paying me in pennies, gotta love those.

a dollar here an a dollar ther does add up, my personal feeling however is that its north worth the time, storage, and hassle hauling all that junk around and I'd rather toss it in the garbage. the same type of people who woud buy a dollar item are the same people that will offer you 18 pennies for that item

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Hot Wheels Anyone?
« on: January 29, 2013, 01:10:32 PM »
there is a huge collectors market for hot wheels i would recommend takingthe time to do some research and find out what you have. also have you tried selling them in "lots"?

pretty much anything modern is worthless but older ones coudl be worth some big money
