Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Re: Dave Hester Auctions
« on: May 03, 2011, 05:05:48 PM »
omg, are you serious. Maybe he aint so fake after all. Or it is just a way to get more revenue on the show, lol.

None of the guys from Storage auctions are fake. They all do this for a living. Just because they are on tv does not mean they are fake.

Auction hunters i think is more in the fake street. Yeah they might do this, but some of  the stuff they pull up is sometimes to good to be true.

I love the climate controlled 5x10 or 10x10 units with boxes and totes. Huge units with furniture has never done it for me.

made about 30 calls today and will be hitting up our first auctions with the wifey on May 25th. Lots to learn before then. thx for the advise!

The first couple of weeks you should just go and look, listen, observe people and the auctioneer.
Your best weapon in the future is to know your competition and the auctioneer. It will also give you a chance to get comfy with the facillities.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Need help in North Carolina
« on: May 02, 2011, 06:39:01 PM »
I stand corrected. Mr A, just out of curiosity what listing service do you use? LOL

I use several sources. One of them are the consollidation of public notice by the newspapers and state information offices.

Then there are others. But i have never used auctionzip or any others like that.

Mr. Anderson. I am in North Carolina and the one you posted about Linden, NC is not listed anywhere I checked, but it is going on when I called the place. It is not on auctionzip, storageunitauctionlist, or the other crappy free site I use. Would you mind telling me where you were able to find out that information. I have been doing this as a 2nd job for about 6 months now and still don't feel like I am finding out about a number of the auctions around the Raleigh, NC area. I think it may be easier in some areas then others, or Im just not looking in the right places.

Thanks

Send me an email and i will send you links to my source.

Just be aware that it might take some time in the beginning. Sales is built on trust and reputation. Build your sales network and work on it as much as you can.

Let's buy his locker, i am sure he had a storage somewhere, and now he can't pay for it.
I am sure you will find guns and money in it.

BTW: Tclane, NC is the 10th biggest state in the USA by population, so it isen't that small.
Population in NC is listed below.

10. North Carolina 9,535,483

Same numbers for Texas is

2. Texas 25,145,561

If you look at it in another way, it would be easier to do auctions in NC then in TX.

Rank by Population Density
(number of people per square mile of land area)

18th biggest in the USA, North Carolina 196.1

29th biggest in the USA Texas 96.3

Yeah, smartphone is a must. I have a iphone and a HTC Thunderbolt. Both with unlimited plans. This gives the freedom to look up anything at any time.

These two have become my best tools in this business.

Well I am one of the people who came along after the shows so I am not sure how it was before, but to this day I have not bought a locker. I am still trying to get that locker that calls out to me and so far the prices have been rather high for the crap I see.

You are seeing crap, because thats what you are looking for. YOu have to look past that.
You will not see the gold or silver or guns or safes from the door in every good locker.

One of my best locker ever looked like freakin crap frm the door, it looked like it had been a war in there.
The only reason i bid on it was becasue it had a fireplace cover that i needed for my self. And they cost 300 bucks in the store. So i sat my limit at 225 bucks. I got the unit for 195 bucks. And i eneded up selling for close to 3000 dollars from it. And on top of that i kpt a few things for my self that i needed, something that would have cost me close to 600 bucks in the store.

The Treasure Chest / Re: FINALLY! Got a Very Profitable Unit Today!
« on: April 27, 2011, 02:03:59 PM »
LMAO, every time someone gets a good money making units, it automaticly becomes an episode of Auction Hunters.

Maybe it is best to keep from posting good lockers from now on, and only focus and post the bad ones where we lose money.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: New locker in the rain/storm
« on: April 26, 2011, 04:03:23 PM »
Sounds like a good unit for $150. I think I'll start trying to hit the auctions on rainy days to see if the crowds are thinned out any.

That day it was about 15-20 people, where 75% was regulars. So it was not bad at all.
Not to long ago (2.5 months) we had auctions with 60-75 people showing up with strollers.

Tclane.

Push your business in other places, this forum is not the right place to do so. Keep us other out of your business. I am not the only one who have told you this. (time after time) when you do not listen, well then expect to get the wrath. Keep your business out of forum, or pay drew and be a sponsor like everyone else. That way you can keep it in one area on the forum. Right now you are jumping around like a advertising bunny and spreading your spam all over  the forum.

One advice to you Tclown, keep doing business this way and you will be out of it before long. People don't like to have half ass good products showed down their throat all the time.
