What's it Worth?? / Re: small cabinet

Best value would be as follows:
1. Hardwood
2. Finished
3. Dovetails
4. Handcut
5.Screws (straight head)

Actually I would recommend a change to number 5 on that. I have found that if there is no metal hardware at all, but just joined with joints and some sort of dowel or peg, it generally brings more, because it shows more of a craftsmen nature to it.

I cant say for sure what the year or even the make is for your piece. But it is a lovely piece, I would say its a Vintage piece, but do not take my word for it, I am no expert in old furniture. Take it to a trustworthy antique shop see if you cant get some idea on the history of your piece.

Good advice, and I highly recommend it.

Its a good way to get rid of collectibles, especially the rare odd ball collectibles. but seller beware, it will all depend if there is a crowd out there at the auction that is interested in your collectibles.

Cool, i hope it helps you out.

If you plan on renting it for some time, you might want to put up some shelfs as well. That will help you out even more, and it will give you maximum storage space.
I plan on doing that, but was going to wait till i need to rent a 10x20, this one is only a 10x10

I agree, the furniture does not look all that bad, redo the table, it should be well worth it. The particle board, either sell very cheaply to make some of your money back, and ditch it and take out the mirrors and sell those. If the lights are in good condition, and you know anyone that decorates houses or fixes them, you may be able to sell the lights there, I would say between $2 - $5 for the lamps.

that is why mine go to the trash, after I get the hard drive out if there is one. Not worth the BS trouble, although I might look into recycling it as scrap. Not really much into scrapping things, they dont pay to well here in San Antonio.

So far I have not saved to much because I know I can get more money. There is only a few things that are in my storage right now, but have not held onto to long. I have found if I hold my ground, I eventually get it sold for what I want. This is with the exception of that sports memorobilia, I just got tired of looking at it. I did hold onto an old beat up trunk for almost a year, because no one wanted to buy it unless I dropped my price I restored it myself. Was asking $50, would of taken $200 to restore it, after been restored it would of been worth between $250 - $350. But finally sold it last week for the $50 I wanted for it.

Now just to get rid of some vintage japanese prints and a counter weight scale.

Thanks for the information Jross, good stuff there. One more question if you dont mind; any suggestions for the avenue to get this sold? I'm a big craigslist guy, ebay is an obvious option down the line. Think any computer shops would be interested in hardware like this?
Several ways, you can look around for any local IT guys, even computer repair shops. List on CL to what you think a fair value is, and add a little extra, most people as you know will try to get the price lower, this way you already give yourself wiggle room. Also look in the wanted section of CL, you may find someone on there that is buying commercial IT equipment. Those would be the routes I go with them. You may even try to sell them to who ever ends up buying the office furniture. It usually can go hand in hand with office equipment.

Let us know how it goes with the locker sales, we all anticipate you will do real well with it. You may end up sitting on some of it for awhile, but you should do extremely well on it all.
