I spoke with Natalie Knight who is a line producer for the show. I think she runs a company called Nat Knight Creative although I couldn't find any information on the company itself. On her business card, it says A&E / Storage Wars.

All I can say is that the general consensus of storage auction buyers in the Dallas area aren't too pleased with them filming there. They're really pissed off that the show is bringing out newcomers and that their area is going to be at the center of it all.

I was a professional storage auction buyer until these shows came out, believe me, I understand their frustration. I was also in real estate when the housing market collapsed. There is not much you can do about these things except step up your game & evolve.
And with all the new people starting this auction buying makes me wonder why I ask why do they want to pay retail for whats in the units? The reason we all buy is to make money and get a great deal, but you can't make money paying retail. PEOPLE STOP PAYING RETAIL!THE POINT ISN'T TO SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY .Its our job to make you spend all your money.lol

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Storage ideas

What I did is took 1500.00 and bought my first unit and have been buying units with the profits from that first unit ans so on and so on using profit only from the units I buy. My rule is never spend a dime of my money from paycheck on another unit.Only profits from the unit. I know alot of people in my area just keep buying and going in debt! Whats the point of buying if youre going in debt,if your not making money then stop do something elese.

Gold! Found 6 braclets in the unit I was talking about last week that I paid 210.00 for that had the kirby vacuum in it2500 for vacuum and was just offered 1350.00 at pawn shop for braclets but I would never in hell sell to pawnshop. Lesson is never assume always get stuff checked out. The way I found out is I found a ring and had my gf go to pawn shop to get the price happens to be the pawn shop wanted to give 6 bucks for ring and 1350.00 for gold. What a great day.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: local auction company BUSTED!!

Yes some auction companies place these people. Im almost positive its been done at auctions ive been at and I know for fact it happens. Yes i am aware its against the law. But chances are its been done before at an auction uve been too as well. Its more common than ud think.
I was at an auction where the storage company itself placed a bid. The auctioneer said on behalf of storage company we place a bid of 200 dollars.

I got one that I KNOW goes down a lot. Bid hikers. Random people in the croud that boosts the bidding if its too low. I know for a fact this happens A LOT
Yes! This is true. The auction company gets 20% of the bid. If its not at the reserve price the bid is hiked up. And the people to thank are those that are new to the auction buying due to the tv shows. If people hadnt supported the show and comming out in the hundreds the greed and the profit the auction company see's wouldnt be happning. Trust me the buyer isnt the only person seeing the profit here.

General Storage Auction Talk / local auction company BUSTED!!
« on: August 26, 2011, 01:04:02 PM »
Knew something like this was going to happen one day due to all the attention storage auction buying has be getting lateley. Local auction company got busted first from paying the storage company what was due on delinquent units and getting units for themselves then selling at there own yard sale, then they were busted going through the units and taking what was good before the auction started. The auctioneers would say we are going now to cut the locks and get ready for auction, they would cut the locks the take what was good. These auctioneers are wife and husband 55-60 years old and the auction company they own is 30 year old company. Then a storage company nation wide was not paying the the tenant the rest of the money owed to them after the auction the money would go to the employees and was called a bonus. Gota love a good audit. YOU CANT TRUST ANYONE IN THIS BUSINESS LATELY! New some form of corruption would take place sooner or later it always does once something profitable is popular.

Also found a wii sucks that it works half way the wii has no audio.Found a lot of kids cloths. Last time I went to kid to kid store and they gave me 120.00 for them.

If I can get this unit for 2,500 -I can make some money. Advantage is I have access to all the equipment to haul and store. Disadvantage if forklift doesnt run a mechcanic can get $$$.

Apparently you guys haven't been on MetalFlowersMedia's website. They are casting for New York and Miami and Storage War Dallas hasn't even premiered yet. Who knows how many season that will run.

I wouldn't count on a slow down anytime soon. :'(
Well you have to be ready just in case the the show does have enough advertising support for more shows. If they sell out or become 90% full they will run another season. Just saying the way every week numbers go down and ratings number drop it show there wont be another season. But you have to be prepared. They can film now and sell dvd later.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: where do you store your products??
« on: August 22, 2011, 09:27:16 AM »
Well this is to be a bussiness and like most bussiness people have room for inventory. I know it looks easy to buy but to store inventory is just as important. Even the tv shows show people don't show the buyers selling from there home maybe most people missed that. Isn't the reason most people have yards sales is because they have too much stuff crowding them. Maybe they should do a show called Auction selling from your home and make big$$$$.Think I saw a poster on a telephone pole going to work today that said that. Its was written in big black ink from a sharpie right under make 5,000 a month selling something. The point of the story is have a plan from start to finish before getting into the bussiness. I know most people only look at buying and really have zero clue on selling and only rely on what they see on tv or think ebay or CL is the answer. Remember anyone can spend money its making the money that sets you apart from the pack.

It will be on next season.  Hell, King of Cars was on for 2 seasons and that was hella more boring.  Storage war gets at least 4 seasons with the numbers it has drawn!
[/quotE-- wrong i WORK IN RADIO AND 4,000 VIEWERS youre not going to get verizon and other to pay 14,000 a minute . Trying being a sales person with amount of viewers to pay top dollar for ad space. they wont do it.
