I spoke with Natalie Knight who is a line producer for the show. I think she runs a company called Nat Knight Creative although I couldn't find any information on the company itself. On her business card, it says A&E / Storage Wars. And with all the new people starting this auction buying makes me wonder why I ask why do they want to pay retail for whats in the units? The reason we all buy is to make money and get a great deal, but you can't make money paying retail. PEOPLE STOP PAYING RETAIL!THE POINT ISN'T TO SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY .Its our job to make you spend all your money.lol
All I can say is that the general consensus of storage auction buyers in the Dallas area aren't too pleased with them filming there. They're really pissed off that the show is bringing out newcomers and that their area is going to be at the center of it all.
I was a professional storage auction buyer until these shows came out, believe me, I understand their frustration. I was also in real estate when the housing market collapsed. There is not much you can do about these things except step up your game & evolve.
Awesome! Thanks! Now its off to buy another unit then another, etc. Gotta love the gamble
Yes some auction companies place these people. Im almost positive its been done at auctions ive been at and I know for fact it happens. Yes i am aware its against the law. But chances are its been done before at an auction uve been too as well. Its more common than ud think.I was at an auction where the storage company itself placed a bid. The auctioneer said on behalf of storage company we place a bid of 200 dollars.
I got one that I KNOW goes down a lot. Bid hikers. Random people in the croud that boosts the bidding if its too low. I know for a fact this happens A LOTYes! This is true. The auction company gets 20% of the bid. If its not at the reserve price the bid is hiked up. And the people to thank are those that are new to the auction buying due to the tv shows. If people hadnt supported the show and comming out in the hundreds the greed and the profit the auction company see's wouldnt be happning. Trust me the buyer isnt the only person seeing the profit here.
Apparently you guys haven't been on MetalFlowersMedia's website. They are casting for New York and Miami and Storage War Dallas hasn't even premiered yet. Who knows how many season that will run.Well you have to be ready just in case the the show does have enough advertising support for more shows. If they sell out or become 90% full they will run another season. Just saying the way every week numbers go down and ratings number drop it show there wont be another season. But you have to be prepared. They can film now and sell dvd later.
I wouldn't count on a slow down anytime soon.
It will be on next season. Hell, King of Cars was on for 2 seasons and that was hella more boring. Storage war gets at least 4 seasons with the numbers it has drawn!
[/quotE-- wrong i WORK IN RADIO AND 4,000 VIEWERS youre not going to get verizon and other to pay 14,000 a minute . Trying being a sales person with amount of viewers to pay top dollar for ad space. they wont do it.
