Oh, yeah....that's what I meant.

I'm actually more bored than in need of money.
I don't think selling plasma would cure my boredom....   How much do they give for plasma these days?  Really don't have much else going on.....would get me out of the house......hmmmmm.

Having so much to do and December being so slow I went back to old schooling it....

Signed up at three focas group companies and University medical research.
Already got a call back on two focus groups.

I have found that focas groups will call a LOT but you never qualify after the 10min interview.
I'm pretty sure he interview WAS the focas group.  They only need the survey.....

Also ordered shirt & tie combos and just ties in bulk.  Go hustle them to all the salesmen at the car lots as I make my rounds looking for wholesale cars.

And packed up golf balls into egg cartons. (Got two 5gal buckets free at estate sales). Sell those for $3/doz.

Pretty much to the point of selling my blood these days.....    ::)

I come across this sort of thing ll he time and I walk, no run, away.

Everyone has that one market they just can't break into.  Mine is medical.
Just can't move it.

Only good thing I've gotten is a cast cut off tool with vacuum for $25.
It had a Foredom rotory which is like a Dremel on Steroids.
I ripped it all apart just for the rotory tool......

Good tax write off tho.   Donated to shelters with clinics.  They'll give you a Receipt at retail level.
Most need crutches, braces and slings.

I got a Volcan gas 6 burner with 3x2 half griddle/half grill and two ovens for $400.

It was dirty as heck but cleaned up nice.  Needed $200 in parts to get working.

Hooked it up outback of my friends house.  He had a bricklayer build a enclosure for it.  Awesome BBQ pit.
Not really a score tho since he gave me $500 down and never paid another dime.  So I lost $100.  :-[

Kinda funny you mention this since just yesterday I went to an friends (for lack of better term when you know the owner well, but we arent friend friends...?)  resturant looking to see if he's ready to expand or upgrade.    Got a line on several resturant auction coming up.
Trying to make a deal or at least a finders fee of keep eating free.....

There are CL adds (and a website) For buying gift cards. Depending on card they give you 40%-60% face value.
cardpool.com/sell-gift-cards.  (This one lim to give UP To 92%)

Also, a lot of companies buy bulk cards at discount.   Sure some of those make there way there to eBay.
Ex: my friends parents have heating/cooling business.  They buy 100's of $50 resturant cards at $35/ea to use as referral promo's.

So guess someone could buy bulk and sell at slight markup.

But think your right.  Mostly people desperate for money.   Like the guy that gets a $250 card as a company Xmas gift or bonus but needs money to fix his car......eBay it for $200......

Your last point might be the main reason.
They jut busted a "gift card ring" here.  Guy stole purses in mall.  Hurried to by $1000's in gift cards before credit cards could be reported.

Another one was steeling identities and buying gift cards.

Guess the card companies would rather take he loss than spend money on tracking the cards.

Since I haven't read his book, I wouldn't know if any of the content was taken from my book. I guess all I would have to do is look for paragraphs that had correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. :D

I did a little home work on this and you're absolutely right. The content is what really counts in plagiarism cases.

It must be pretty easy to get away with.  There was this guy in my life (not in that way, people!) that I forced to deal with.   He was a get rich quick type.  Always a new plan, most failed.

He wrote some books.   I think to boost his own ego or to make himself look important in his other dealings...

Anyway,  to read these are like reading cliff notes of industry leaders books.   He basically took a 200 page book and paraphrased it into 100 page book.    And where he couldn't paraphrase he says "from so-n-so....."   And copies&pastes a whole section.

I laughed when he said he got published.   Yeah, man.  Paying lulu.com to set up a publishing company for you and paying for the publishing fees and print cost yourself doesn't really count as "getting published"

Kinda like saying you "got hired" to sell Amway.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Do you carry special auto insurance?
« on: January 08, 2013, 03:54:20 PM »
No.  I had a policy when I was doing autobody since I ws frequently driving others cars.  It covered just about any driving circumstance.  Though really I had it to cover my tools.  Covered if taken fom a car, my car, my house, their house, work.....

Dropped it because it was spendy and haven't been doing much that I'd need it.

Now I just have a $1million dollar Broad Coverage plan. It only covers other people or things.  (Injury, property loss.....).  It won't cover my stuff if stolen or damaged.

However, It will cover rentals and my stuff in the rental so I kinda have a commercial policy.
But I think if I did it a lot they would consider it a business, not a "hobby", and they'd deny coverage.
I really wouldn't hold my breath for payment anyway.  Policy says 'rentals and personal property' but I don't think they mean a moving truck.....

The Lounge / Wasted morning
« on: January 08, 2013, 01:16:38 PM »
Woke early and decided to check out auctions.
Called the facility downtown off of StorageTreasures.  Yeah, auction was scheduled.

Had to use Toll bridge to make it.   Had to pay for parking.  R/T a Gallon of gas.
Just to find that Yes, there was a Scheduled auction......but it was moved to 2/5.
That last bit woulda been a nice thing to let me know on the phone!

Other one on my way home, called on my way.  Cancelled.

You know, I think StorageTreasures only has listings from one auctioneer in my area.   They just go off his website.....rather his schedual.. He hits the same places in rotatation.   So facility 'x' has it every 1st Tuesday.....they just mark the entire years first Tuesday as an auction. Auction scheduled or not.

The auctioneer however actually updates his site right up to the morning of auction.....much better.

My take on it would be the title similarity would pass.

How many titles can you come up with for a certian subject.  Look at movies.....or text books.....

I think it would be the content that mattered.

Youse need Uncle JoJo and Little Vinny?

Have you read his?   Can you get him on copyright?

................Does he read this site?   Now covering his tracks.
