General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Canned Goods

i dont eat things that have been canned unprofesionally. theres so much that can go wrong when canning food, i wouldn't risk eating that. But if its some del monte green beans and the can looks intact im good to go

wierd

i've bought units like that for $200 or so. bidding only on what you can see is BS in my opinion. I bid on the local area, the facility, the contents and the clues.

its a good one. id suggest selling anything worth $30 or more on ebay and anything $30 or moe thats big on craigslist. after that is garage sale fodder for me. of course it doesnt hurt to have higher ticket items   at the yard sale either

online auctions are a godsend for me. because of the crapp pictures i just got 2 units for $400 total. the washer and dryer in the $120 unit will pay for the whole thing and tons of other great stuff. (could see the washer dryer from the door but not in the pictures).

they're fine. just look for can expansion. i have 4 kids and they eat all the canned goods

i havent but i might look into it. i rent a 10x20 for overflow and my HOA wont ***** at me that way.

i like taking friends and family. it pisses the other buyers off and gives me an advantage lol.

i think dumbass people leaving their papers in a locker then not paying for it causes ID theft. But seriously, i can imagine theres an underground market for that stuff. I don't bother with anything illegal or immoral. All the porn gets thrown out and all the docs get shredded.

yah, but really.a dolly is what, maybe $20 or $30 used? i know what youre saying though. I bid online only because i have to(to feed the beast), i definately like live better. although i've been pleasantly surprised with cheap online lockers because of bad pictures. im about to win 2 more today that are cheap. I'm curious to see whether or not online auctions will become more popular during the colder months.

they should be offering a 5% buyers fee so online auctions actually take off and are worth it. by raising the price they are pricing themselves out of the market if theyre not careful. also i dont know if they charge on the sellers end but if they don't they should start doing that seeing as theyre the only game out there right now. And it saves the facilities the charge of an auctioneer. by offering no buyers premium(as most on site auctions do) or a very small one they will get more customers. this should not be about making money for them right now, it should be about getting a great market share quickly before someone else comes in and does it better(which would not be hard to do).

i dont like online auctions. but i still win them. its like anything else. the crappier the auction, the better the price, so if the picture is horrible(as it often is) get it cheap. I do this often and find out i'd have paid 4x as much if i was there live. I bought a unit for $100 that i would have paid $400 for at the door if it were live. don't get left behind in the digital age, get in now

yep, just tell them the unit isnt worth more than $150. You bid the guy up because you knew he wouldnt stop. If you want to sell the unit for $150 i'll come pay today and clean it out.
