That is a nice ROI.  I have found I make my money back and/or some money from the under $100 lockers then my other lockers.

Good hunting this week.
That is because you keep to much....  ;D We kept a belt clip razor knife with cord attached... It is funny looking.

thanks we will have fun looking...
Yes black is good no matter how much it is.  :)

eBay / Re: Frustrated

Thanks Movieman,
The first two things I sold were $56 and $51 being a new seller holding my money. No big deal I understand why they do it.
I got you on the reserve money just the account that is attached is one I don't use very much. Put money in it to pay bills online and such. So if transfer the shipping cost from my other account then pay for shipping would have taken to long... Sorry I don't trust banks have been burned to many times. Love my current bank and they are great but I don't trust that lovely NSF crap. My shipping for the first two items was $30 total.. Thanks so much for the advise on the $3.00 put that in and it helped. Of course the smaller item lost about $7.00 on it but sure beets $40. Did not put the $3.00 in it.
I do the round up the change in my checking account.. My husband calls it cushion money.  ;D

"The only complaint I have ever had with eBay is when they took away the seller's ability to leave negative for a buyer (that happened a couple of years ago.)" I will agree to that no protection to sellers.

Shipped all today total cost was $44 I charged $35.50. The small one got me. Lady at the post office was very helpful. So as long as my buyers are happy I will be on my way as an ebay seller.

I put a set of copper pans on ebay thank goodness they did not sell did not have the shipping right. I am going to sit on them a while and re list later once I get some feedback.

General Storage Auction Talk / 1st locker purchased and sold
« on: November 07, 2011, 04:50:49 AM »
Bought our first locker on OCT. 26 for $30.00. Small locker full of kids clothes, 2 strollers, 2 heaters. Had our yard sale (parking lot of thrift store). Total yard was $300.00 over two days. Cost for the parking lot was a bike we would have sold for $20.00. The income from the $30.00 locker was $90.00. so not a bad return on our money.  ;D. Still have an estimated inventory from locker of $150.00. We had our personal stuff that needed to unload so we purchased this locker to fill up our tables.
IMO to all the noobies myself included don't just get rid of all the clothes you find, good filler for yard sales. and brings in some cash. Clothes take a little bit of time but money is money.
Sold all the clothes for .50 each at that price people will dig through it.
Kids jackets $3.00
Denim $2.00
Heading out this week to the Auctions with our made seed money.  :)
Just an update.
Forgot we traded an old CB radio and booster for Two Camcorders
Sony 10x Handy Cam CCD-FX330 Works
JVC Compact VHS  GR-SXM920U  missing power cord.. So don't know if it works or not.

eBay / Re: Frustrated

Update..  I have sold three things on ebay. Added a $3.00 handling fee to two of them. The buyer of these two items sent me a nice email about shipping and making sure to protect them. Heavy copper pans. ie don't use peanuts ect. has had things knocked out of round. So took some old cushions of a sofa cut them up and used the foam and batting to wrap them. with 2" of foam around them think they should be fine. On the postage side I think I will be all right with the charge. Now on the other small item did not charge the $3.00 thought I could get it in flat rate box after wrapping it up don't think it will fit. Did estimated shipping on it and I am out $3.00. Live and learn. Heading to the post office this morning. Think I am going to box up my items before I put them on ebay so I will have everything right. My "A Personality" showing LOL
And to anybody just starting to sell on ebay have your shipping cost in your pocket. They take it out of your account then give it to you in your paypal then you have to transfer... Hate when things mess with my accounts. I have a separate one for this not to mess with the household. Why I am going to the post office in person. On the small item sold for under $50.00 I got my funds immediately. The other is pending same buyer sold for over $100. I have no ratings as a seller.. So start small.
If you count in my time think I am still paying for my education.  :o
Cheaper than college HAHAHAHA

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Saturday auction failure
« on: November 06, 2011, 06:31:32 AM »
Went to an auction caravan last month. The first few storage places locks pre cut. Got to the last one They took their lock off and cut the owners lock. Same auction company different counties so not sure what that was about.
Sounds like you will know where not to go. Not a waste of time if you know to mark them off your list to attend.

I saw it thanks. I go to Dailycourtnews.com and been gettoing info for free. What does this site offer that we should pay? Just curious:)

Doing the leg work for you, If you want to pay for that. Finding them on your own not that hard. To each his own. I found one that wanted to charge for their list, they offered a copy of their previous list and nothing local for me so did not sign up. the longer you do it the better you will get at finding the Auctions you want to attend.  Good Luck

Flea Markets / Re: Flea Market Revenue ?
« on: November 06, 2011, 06:13:41 AM »

What was strange was none of my Christmas stuff is moving yet.  Many odds and ends did but not Christmas.

Did yard sale (parking lot of thrift store). Friday and Saturday. Had mostly men on Friday, What surprised me was the baby stuff I had did not move.. Got rid of a stroller on Sat. Never know with crowds... Too Sat was dead. A Lot of yards going on and our inventory was down. Christmas stuff may move after thanksgiving. Hope you do well today. Oh our cost was a bike to the thrift store would have sold for $20. So not to bad.

We could start an A.A. Auctions Anonymous. Hold meetings in a storage unit.  ;D
Heard that at an Auction from a guy saying he was addicted.

This will give some advice on the store front.
My neighbour just opened up a thrift store she is getting all her stuff from estate sales. And she is doing great. Now I am her contact for the storage units ;D Also I can hold my yard sales in her parking lot. (we live to far out to do them at home)
Sounds like you have a lot of inventory and you know you can't get everything from the storage units.
So good luck a lot of good information on here.
