empty safes and empty gun cases seem to increase the value of the locker by 500-1000 dollars.  If I wanted to gamble I would go to vegas.

General Storage Auction Talk / where do you store your products??
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:39:30 AM »
Picked up a couple of units the last couple of weeks and I am having a hard time storing the goods.  I have a 7.5x10 food locker of my own, but that was nearly filled up with the first unit I purchased down here.
My wife isn't going to let me use the house, outside of snapping pictures.  The garage has my car in it.

Anyone have issues like this??  If so what did you do to render them, additional storage lockers?  a warehouse space maybe?

looked like a whole lot of flea market stuff from the outside, which I like.  Once I pulled out some boxes i noticed about 40 new Chico's belts, and other Chico's jewelry and clothing. Paid 225 for the locker and will double that just with the new clothes.  Not taking into account all of the other stuff that I actually purchased the locker for.

aqccording to this article 3 days ago their ratings are fine.

And I believe your numbers in the OP were a bit off.  It was probably showing a 000 above that column.
In the article I posted you would only think there were 2231 viewers.  But its atually 2,231,000

it was just in a big magazine with all of the characters holdingfists of hundred dollar bills.  Parade just had it on the front cover down here in Atlanta.  Hell even if it doesn't air another episode it has killed the storage auction industry for months and years to come.

Ya normally I just.chunk the deuce up.
Thats an easy way to bid 200 bucks where I am.  I see plenty of newbs showing 2 fingers and jumping the bid on accident.

98
yea lz auctioneers tried it but it didn't work out I guess.  last tweet was 8/6 and they have had plenty of runs since then.

after glancing over a few of the auctions, it seems as if a lot of them are staged.

I can see 400-500 there.  its 30 deep so you are rolling the dice on ifthere are any real "goods" in there.

Left after the first 5 and it wouldn't have mattered anyway.  Lockers were mostly full of square foam gymnastics things a few spring boards and foam pads.  They did a bid and hold for each room and someone came up with the total + 10% and bought the lot for 2300 bucks.  NO equipment at all just a bunch of pads and foam.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: fire arms
« on: August 14, 2011, 10:09:39 PM »
"firearms" aren't supposed to be placed in the storage locker per contract.  So I would assume the auctioneer can set whatever rules he/she wants.  same as chemicals and basically anything that you  can't ship through usps.  Its all in the original contract from the storage facility to the renter.
Most states don't charge a fee if they are taken to the police station.  If yo uwere to take it to a broker, they may charge a fee.

social media sites can help if their information is enough such that you can pin-point the person.  Linkedin helps if they are a profssional.
Either way its still luck of the draw as to whether or not they will have any valuables in the locker.
