Latino's from HomeDepot parking lot.
Seriously. Not being racist. Those guys are awesome!
Work hard, fast and for a reasonable price.

Need a locker boxed, trucked and cleaned in under an hour? Done.

For $15?

For that I'd use them.  Wonder where they dump the stuff???

I went for the money. Guy offered $2500. Friend only has $700 in hand.
Insurance approved surgery so with being out of work for 2-3months I had to pick my finance's over helping out a dumb ass.....

Have a car that I'm into for $1000ish.
Have a friend that bought a car that was way to expensive for him. Doubtful he can afford payments. 30% interest! Gets 9mpg....
Totally tried to talk him out of it.
So now he can't afford to insure and totaled it. Not really an "accident" cause he was racing around and just can't drive....

The car I have is listed at $2700. Will go down to $2200.

So should I sell and make $1200+ or help a friend out that didn't listen to my advice in the first place?

If i sell to him him its Just going to be what he can raise. Im not going to do payments. That always leads to problems.
Really want to help him out and I kinda consider my side stuff a hobby. I don't count on it to live. But it's a lot of money to give up......

Never one to shoot down someone's dreams....just showing reality. I'd agree with the above.
All depends on of. You want to be a thrifter or business owner.

I love autobody. Opened shop and spent 10-12hrs a day running a business and getting work. Rarley touched a car. Finally got out and do it on the side and make just about as much since the overhead isn't sucking ip my money, on my own schedule and I'm actually doing what I love to do....

Friend is a chef. Opened restaurant and hates his life. He wants to cook! Menu plan, come up with new things.
He spends 12-18hrs a day, 6-7 days a week running a business. And he said the same thing about the money. Was making $60K/yr as chef. Last year made a bit over 100K. But instead of a 2000hr year he spent about 5000hrs at the restaurant. Coulda made more working two jobs, doing what he wants to do and no stress, no debt, no risk.

Some people enjoy the business side no matter what they run. The CEO of taco bell doesn't have a clue how to make a taco. He wants to run operations.

You have to figure out what it is you are really looking to do......

That's the one I have to get to a coin shop.
Not a VDB but on one of the forums everyone was telling me there are "variations" ( I assume mint errors/marks) that it needs to be looked at by profesional to be sure.

Thanks

Shouldn't be bad. I have disability insurance thru work. Doesn't pay much but at least I'll get some money each week.  I'm not even sure when I'll go in. Insurance hasn't approved even tho 3 doctors and a Dr of Therapy say it's necessary.....
Till then I'm just going after every dollar I can! :)

I've searched the sh*t out of them.
Looking for a reliable web site. So many say it's worth say $10 and you can buy them all day long for $1 on eBay....

So far I've gotten some decent more than face value. Nothing to run to a coin shop over.
Some silver. A pile of buttons. And a bottle with three percocet in it. No clue how that would end up in there.....

I'll check out realcent. Thanks.

I have two friends that tried. Both like a high end thrift, low end antique store.
Niether lasted a year.  Both had them same problem. Spent so much time being business owners and time in shop they didn't have time to get inventory. And they put a lot out for inventory that didn't move fast enough.

If you do go for it make sure you have operating costs covered for some time and someone to help you out on working shifts......

Good luck!

Why buy a tester when you can get it tested for free at any pawnshop or jewel store?

Why buy a tester when you can get it tested for free at any pawnshop or jewel store?

Cause that's another trip. More of my time and a waste of their time. I'm only going to go to people I trust. That means I'm also going to be doing business with them. Not going to keep going to use their expertise and equipment and time for free.

I separate out all junk or known metals/stones and only bring in pieces I'm willing to sell if they give a good offer.

Plus you look like a fool if you constantly bring in junk. Some will take this as you know nothing and when you have a good piece might way low ball you.

Go in with some knowledge.

What's it Worth?? / Re: Possibly a gold mine?

looking into japanesse makers marks and that mark does fit. Mid-1900's they had a thriving export economy. One company alone had hundreds of marks. Several used a basic symbol (bird) and a "T" just like that. Could be name of company or Tokyo or some they put the letter of the import company they produced for (i.e. "T"orronto Imports)
Anyway, can't say it IS from japan but after seeing the styling of the eBay one and what I've read Im leaning in that direction. But still, that mark just doesn't strike me as japanesse. Doesn't look like anything I've found. Looks like European ones.   But what do I know.  :-\

If you figure it out be sure to PM me and let me know!

Put a drop of hydrogen peroxide in a hidden spot.
Not a great test but peroxide will oxidize silver.

Don't know that hallmark. Will search around. By the look of the piece and being the hallmark is a duck I'm guessing a French origin if it's old.

Surgery soon. 3-6 months off work. So I'm banking every dollar I can!
Also why I'm trying to get some lockers. Gonna have plenty of time to sell!!

I was looking at a semi-auto shotgun the other day but decided when the f*** am I ever gonna need this thing!!  lol

Both are good home defense. If that's what hour going for I'd do the shotgun. Sound of it load'n scares. Way less likely to miss target and low chance of missing target and having round go thru wall and hitting family fataly......

I go to an antique store. Not a high end place but kinda looks like a swap meet in there or thrift store.
They offer way low but those people will usually know the history and what it is.
Then I go research it myself online.

Or good ol eBay. Search the little info you have and scroll thru pictures......
