might just be your area auctionguy, im still finding an ounce or more a month in gold, unit quality overall has gone down a bit though. and that may have to do with the economy. people are storing crappier stuff because they have crappier stuff. my opinion, maybe im just in a honey hole

so far i've never lost money on an auction trip. On a single unit? maybe.... I don't calculate it like that. I usually buy in bulk but I have definately bought some units that werent what I thought they were. Once i bought what i thought was a recurve bow in case that turned out to be a volleyball net. I've also bought what i thought were magic cards that ended up being something else quite worthless(magic cards are money btw). Theres tons more im sure but i think it happens to all of us.

boxes take up too much space in my opinion, i generally use as many as i can for shipping/packing then recycle the rest. they just stack up way too fast for me. Oh i also put all my stuff that goes to the local auction in cardboard boxes.

biggest one i attended had about 80 units , all sold in 1 day. i was fairly new to the game and only got 4. I would be a MESS if i went to one that big now, i generally take down half the units i see in this area because of great value

id tow the golf cart and bring lots of trucks and labor. Have my guys unloading while i was buying :)

im guessing it didnt get a ton of bids for 2 reasons. #1 its big and a lot of people arent willing to do the work. #2 from the pics it looks like it could be a setup unit or a storage overflow unit. I always buy setup units and overflow units, mainly because they do go super cheap and they generally have good items, just not usually a whole lot of nice suprises(full jewelry boxes etc)

thatll be a 4 day auction or so. and i bet they dont do one that big again lol. they wont get great prices and everyone will hate the whole experience(except the buyers that hang in and get a great deal)

probably neither i'd say

yah, i had a good pop. bought 6 units for total of $370 on tuesday. moved it all into the warehouse. i went through the unit i liked most and found all kinds of old collector toys from the 70's and older. i dont think itll be quite 10 grand but its a nice one. Nice hit by the way.

yah im gonna stock up good so i can weather the tax season storm again this year. its so fun bidding them up though
