What's it Worth?? / Rally 2 Ton Floor Jack and Stands
« on: April 21, 2014, 12:25:40 PM »
Hey all,

I picked up a locker this week that had a Rally 2 Ton Floor jack with stands in it. Usually my google fu is pretty good and I"m able to dig up the original retail price or what it went for, but I just can't quite crack it.

Anybody know what it went or or what it goes for currently?

Made in 2001, very nice condition. Here is a pic I found of the original product.

In my town they "ordinance" is 10 cumulative days per year. Don't it'd come into play unless someone complains.

I hope to triple my money.

At least double it.

Garage Sales / First Storage Garage Sale
« on: April 12, 2014, 03:49:20 PM »
Well we just did our first Storage Garage Sale. We did a one day sale from 8-4 on a Saturday and so far we have cleared almost $300. I had already made my money back and more on the 3 of the 4 lockers I had picked up in the past few months and these were the smalls with some furniture mixed in. Pretty stoked as a whole. I plan on doing this a lot more when summer comes around.

eBay / Re: Can you change your eBay username?
« on: April 10, 2014, 09:39:07 PM »
Yeah, it is really easy. They just put an icon next to your name for a time that states you changed your username.

I had made a name years ago that I'm glad I could change from to match my current set up.

If it was just me I wouldn't care, but with a wife and two kids, I want to be cautious.

eBay / Re: What is the best DAY to begin an eBay auction?

Another thing to note is that Fixed Price style listings are now free as well. You can have a fixed price sale for 30 days and have best offer included for free. So price it what you want and let it go. I've been having steady sales like this for the past month or so because of this as my auctions were set at a much larger starting amount close to what they were selling already on ebay.

I'm not paying for the store feature and basically have a mini ebay store. Especially when ebay is constantly running specials where you can list as much as you want in certain windows. The 50 free a month has been working fine for me (I'm a part timer).

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Good Part Time Income??

TraderA - glad to have you here. Yeah, this business is great for part time income and it's a lot of fun. Plus, you get to keep a lot of cool stuff for yourself. As a teacher, this is the ideal part time business for you since you have summers off.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah, it has worked out very well so far. There are lots of ways to go about this and tons of auctions every week, with some on the weekend which is where I scored my last locker. Spring Break is just around the corner and I'm hitting three auctions next week.

The thing I like about this the most is that if I don't want to work, I don't have too and I won't have to worry about not paying the bills. So part time is great for me.

I've been doing this since December and have purchased two units and have made around $1500 total for the last three months with the potential for a lot more on those two. I've been to a lot more auctions, but have waited to purchase till the price and items were right for me.

For me, this is a great part time job/hobby that I do out of my garage and house. I have a full time job (teacher) that gives me health benefits, bills paid, and regular time off. I see this as capable for a lot of people part time that have the time to put into it. Going full time requires a lot more capitol, resources, and infrastructure that a lot of people don't have.

In the end, it has been a lot of work, but I have really enjoyed the process and am learning as much as I can.
