General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Saving money on shipping

It is a good idea to buy from those places which you guys have mentioned that allow you to get the necessary items at wholesale prices. However, you would require a lot of storage space at home to hoard all of those items for “future” because moving is not an activity which you do every single day. For me, I still prefer to get plastic packing boxes which can be reused over and over again because they are durable and can last for more than just one or two moving-out phases. You can even lend them to your friends or family when they need to shift houses.

It really depends on the individual. Some people are risk takers. Hence, when they see something mysterious like safes or even packing boxes, they would most likely think there would probably be expensive things inside. Other people on the other hand, do not like to take the gamble and would prefer to bid on something that is visible from the outside instead. For me, I would say it is the automobiles or electronics that would drive the price up.

I had heard of a similar situation from a relative of mine also. By right, if following proper rules and regulations, the manager should not have allowed the tenant to clear his own stuff up in packing boxes whilst the auction has already started. However, as what Edward has mentioned, some of their possessions inside the auctioned unit probably had sentimental value that is worth more than a few pennies. That is why out of goodwill, the manager had done what he did. Nonetheless, it is great to know that there is such a person like you Travis who is so kind-hearted so as to let the whole situation pass. God bless.
