However, I have not personally been to one so I have doubts as to whether there are really hidden treasures in there or are they just junk and not worth even a single penny. I think I would need to tag along when a friend or a family goes for bidding and witness the uncovering process myself so as to truly believe.

I would analyze my current situation and decide if I really need the money or do I really need the space? If I need to clear the space and room as soon as possible, then I wouldn't mind to cut back on my losses. I wouldn't mind even if I get just a few bucks as long as I have the space that I really need which is my main intention of the sale afterall.

You should look out for features that often attract buyers like the good condition of the items, furniture pieces, electronics, automobiles, and anything sellable. If the storage unit gets opened up and all that you get to see are boxes and newspapers, you probably should not go for that one. However, what lies underneath the surface could sometimes surprise you.

Yup I totally agree that there are and will definitely be people who are willing to buy those used bikinis and lingerie. It is not uncommon these days especially with online platforms that hide the buyer’s true identity behind virtual anonymity. Hence, I think the contents of your storage units will fetch quite a sum of money indeed.

It is true that they have the buyer/seller protection policy, hence it is quite difficult to pursue the case in your favour. Nevertheless, like you said since you have received the returned item in original packaging, then perhaps you do have a case since the claim is not valid that it was not as described. I have had a similar encounter before with some storage boxes I sold but I decided to let the matter blow over as it was too much of a hassle to pursue.

I feel that it is really unfair that there is such a dispute option of “Item not as described” which buyers often take advantage of to their fullest benefit. Sometimes they just use that as an excuse to get a full refund for things that they do not need or want after they have received them. I know the protection policy is there to prevent any unfair transactions, but sellers are the ones being treated unfairly instead.
