my first crap unit!

my first crap unit!

I went to a auction last friday.  they had 6 units on the block.  This was the first auction i have been to that allowed  you to walk into the unit.  (I didn't like that).  This is the first auction that i did research on the owners.  One was in jail for meth, one was a local nurse,  one was a student, and they last the one i bid on and won recently passed away.  This locker looked like someone moved the items in a hurry, so i was banking on the fact they forgot something.

Digging through the unit i found some small electronics and kids clothing that will easily sell, but it's going to be hard to recoup my 325 bid.

Here is the picture from when the door opened. I look at it now, and say to myself no wonder! haha.

Oh this locker had TONS AND TONS of new fabric.  not sure how to sell it though.

Happened to me last week, not a fun time working on a loser. Make the best of it and move on. I got a nice little unit yesterday that will make up my loss and then some. Good luck on your next unit.

It happens to all of us.  I bid on a unit last week that had a ton of dust, lots of boxes, and some furniture (I hate furniture).  Got the unit for $220.  Made a deal with one of the regulars who wanted the furniture at $50.  Come to find out most things were busted, and boxes had all cloths.  So for now I'm sitting at a $180 loss.  Have to see if can make anything back on the cloths but at $.50 and $1 each not going to make a profit on this one.

Just get through it, dust yourself off, and start fresh. Dont even think about it.

I try to stay away from stuff like this.

The first thing I noticed was the old computer monitor lying face down in the pile of junk. The second thing I noticed was the hampers with more 'dump' in them.  Crushed boxes. Trash bags. Loose junk.

This looks like someone moved, and valued their junk.  It literally looks like they just threw it into the locker.  That tells me there probably isn't much of any value.  The old monitor- why save that?  With as cheap as computers are now days, when I see old PC equipment just tossed into a locker, that speaks alot about the former owners financial state.

325 is too much.  IF I had to bid on this, I would keep it under 100, 150 absolute top.

I would walk away. Thats just me.  I bought one like this, I learned my lesson. Luckily I only paid 150 for it, and the only reason I bought it was the dresser and chest freezer.  I figured I would make money on the other junk but most ended up in the dump and I barely broke even.

No dump runs yet.  I kind of luck out.  This lady had 4 cell phones still in the box and i sold those on ebay at an AVG $35 per phone.  She was native american and had a ton of Native american jewelry and infant handmade moccasins, sold all that stuff on ebay too.  Looks like i'm getting my money back on this unit.

There was a lot of **** too.

I found one bong and five pipes.  This chick liked to get her smoke on.
