Auction Hunters in Texas, May 2011
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:49:18 AM »
Here's a link which talks about the hunters JUST WATCHING an auction in Garland, TX.
This may have been during the time they were in the Lone Star state doing some filming for
the spring, 2011 season FINALE which airs Tuesday, May 31, 2011 on Spike! .

Property managers say "no photography !"

I love this quote at the end " They're still good enough at it to make more money off-camera than Spike TV is paying them to star in Auction Hunters."

This is total BS. They have to be making at least 50 grand a piece per episode. Either way, it doesn't matter how good they are anymore, even the pros in the storage auction business are having a tough time making money.

These guys are not making $50,000/episode - that's money that actual names on network make.  Look at the celebs on DWTS, they aren't pulling in $50,000 even the final week and that's a #1 show.

At best, $5,000/per episode, more than likely $2500.  Spike has zero money, Gurney produces crap TV for next to nothing.  This show is likely less than $50,000 all in per episode - talent, crew, location, accommodations etc.

Hmmm. Have you noticed that they run commericals duing the show. That generates money.

And I am learning from them too regardless how much money they are making in real life.

$2,500 is a joke. When Storage Wars first came out, each member of the cast was making 10K per episode. Both Storage Wars and Auction Hunters had incredible ratings. I can only image imagine what they make now that the shows have been established. Not only that, consider how much they make in royalties every time they play a rerun.
