I think I posted this link with a comment in another section the other day but since we got storage aucitons in the news now figured I'd post it here. The comments under the article are pretty funny as well.

Article about the show pawn queens about these two chicks that run a pawn shop. It's actually two guys and these ladies are brought in for the show but taht's reality tv for you.

I've been in the shop multiple times, once when they were filming actually.

Not that this is unexpected as all realtiy shows are staged but about two weeks prior I saw an ad on craigslist. "Do you have an interesting item to sell? Want to be on tv selling it? We can't tell you the name of the show but a popular show is filming...yadayadayada. So basically everything was set up from the get go, its not actually people walking in but like I said that would be expected

Anyone seen the new Pawn Queens episodes?

There have been a number of articles about the show pawn quens on the net and in some papers and stuff mostly knocking it.

I have to agree, I watched some of the new episodes last night. They are totally copying Pawn Stars now. If you watch the old season the way they structured the episodes and how it was filmed wasn't very realistic and it was more of a storyline with these idiot girls trying to run a pawn shop more so than actually a show about resale or pawn shops.

Apparently they decdied if you can't make a hit show on your own why not just copy a hit show.

Everything about it is totally copying. The way they deal with sellers has totally changed and they pretty much use the exact same phrasing as pawn stars, what are you trying to get out of it, calling everyone boss, etc. They also put up numbers on the screen what have they gotten it for, what will they flip it for, etc. The show used to be totlly different. Not any better but diff but you can totally tell they realized their show sucked and just decided to TOTALLY copy anything and everything from pawn stars.

Pawn Queens is "nothing of value" according to Newsday

Newsday compares the show to Lifetime TV which is often considered "lightweight" drama aimed at women at home.

The IMDB is a good place to go for movie reviews including ones not covered by reporters like Roger Ebert.

This link will take you to their list of "all" external reviews of Pawn Queens.
