Storage Auction in Killeen, TX
« on: June 01, 2013, 03:37:03 PM »
This auction I went to a few months ago made the news. 30 units - all trash except a few that sold for full retail.

I don't know if you all remember my post about the auctioneer I call the dancin' cowboy but he's in the video with his mother who is also an auctioneer.

They interview Frank, a local buyer who was on an episode of Storage Wars Texas. They said he left empty handed but he actually bought several units that day.

They also interview the person I call "the birdlady." She's like 6'3" with feathered hair. They refer to her as a professional. Buying a few units every month does not make you a professional. I think she would have been gone long ago if it weren't for her husband's pension.

I tried it in both IE and Chrome, and neither will play it. Might be a windows 8 thing.

The "birdlady" is shown in the 2nd photo above.  If one buys a few units every month for years does one qualify as a professional, or does one have to start a few websites ABOUT buying to be considered a professional?  ;D

Yes, I think you have to have a minimum of two websites to be considered a professional.  ;D  Just kidding.

Someone could buy 20 units a month but if they lose money on half of them, I hardly consider that person a professional.

At this auction, the birdlady paid $1,100 for a unit. On the video, you heard what was inside...old dusty clothing.
