Casino tokens
« on: February 02, 2013, 11:51:47 AM »
I have a bunch of $10 tokens fom Imperial Palace in Vegas.  0.6 Troy ounce of silver.   Collectors item.
I've held on to for 10 years.   They were oung on eBay a fewer ago for $30-$50ea.

Figured since Imperil Palace just closed......good time to sell, people buying memories.

Look at this!  Less than $20/ea!    Think people are just trying for the silver content.....

Some treasure I got. :(

That is all those sell for is the .6 Oz of silver.  There are people who collect them, but most of the time they are worth the melt of the silver.

I have about 20 of these 10$ tokens from a bunch of different casinos in Vegas. I looked them up and they were going for around 30 bucks on eBay like you said. I think I'll hold onto mine for a while and you should probably also, they only stopped making them for about 8 years or so maybe less .. Theyre worth 20$ more than the va,use in 8 years, imagine in 80 years! Haha

Yep. Sitting in a drawer along with ash trays a various other "acquired" Vegas memento's.
Perhaps someday it will be worth something more than memories.....or rather proof I was there....I don't really remember much from my Vegas trips.  I mean, I have a picture of myself in a club with a tiger.  Like a real, live tiger.   You'd think that's something I'd remember doing, huh?   ::)

It's more likely they will lose value as a memento as time passes by. If it were me I'd sell them now.

They still have the silver value......

Collectors item?   Yeah, not so much.   Very few of us remember when the Imperial Palace was "the" casino.  To most its the $29.99/night sun-thu hotel.

Club Utopia.  It's gone but was behind the McDonalds on the trip.  They had "a fire".....and huge insurance policy....right before they were about to be shut down by the authorities.

Awesome club.  Didnt even open unil 11pm.   I could get done bartending here, hop a red-eye and be at the club just as they were really starting to get going.
