It's been a long while since I went to an auction but I had some time yesterday to go to one in the morning. I got a unit for $100. To start out with it has over 300 dvd movies, some sliver jewelry, and large amount of tools. But the surprise came under a blanket. I found what I thought was 2 old siren horns. In fact they are vintage speakers. After google check I found out they are pretty rare electro voice T250 speakers that collectors look for. A single one sold for $750 on ebay. I have 2 of them in working order and hope to fetch the same.

Not too shabby for a $100 investment. What brand are they and do they have a date?

I got a very interesting locker last week. I started going thru the unit and found it was FULL of NOS new old stock from k-mart and sears. Back from the 1970's I found so far 6 pair of wranglers new with the tags still on them in mint condition!!!   Found a thermos cooler still in the shipping box!  4 pair of LEE blue jeans with tags.   This was like a time capsule and I'm having a blast going thru this unit I don't want it to end!! Wish y'all could see these old prices on theses items the price stickers still are on almost all the items. Wow how inflation creeps up on you.

Price I paid for the unit a big whooping $55.00!!!   I have sold just a small part of it at auction already and got over $500 after their percentage.

Ok just a small update. The 73" 3D DLP tv I got a few weeks back works great!!!! IF I sale it I'm thinking $500 - $700 for it!!!

Now the finds in the 5 units I got in 2/07/2015. 1) had some nice electronics with a complete Bose system. A Minolta 35mm with 2 large lenses. A lodge red enamel cast iron pot with lid not used. Unit cost $55.00
2) a Eddie Bauer bassinet.  A hand made Moses cradle (really nice) some nice wood kids chairs 2 bed frames. A pressboard entertainment center. ( if I can't get $10.00 on that I will get my baseball bat out and have some fun) unit cost $30.00
3) a nice sofa table with ball and claw feet. A small desk. An 8 track and cassette player with 8 track tapes. 36 DVDs. Unit cost $30.00
4) a upright player paino with a few good items to sale. Unit cost $5.00
5) sweet furniture unit. A repo. Roll top desk. An armoire great condition. A dresser and a night stand all wood. A antique trunk from R. H. John Galveston trunk company.  (Without the tray :-(    ). Unit cost $200.00

I think I will make a sweet return on these units.

Sweet. Sounds like you did well on a few and broke even on a few. Best of all you got some nice pieces to send to auction.

I love reading about awesome finds in storage units. You know I never really thought too much about clearing some storage units out on my own. I'm scared of the repurcussions of customers coming to ask me what I've done with their junk! But of course, there's the thrill of treasure hunting that calls to me sometimes and really temptes me to start!

Successful finds like this are what motivate me to attend storage auctions! However, I have not personally been to one so I have doubts as to whether there are really hidden treasures in there or are they just junk and not worth even a single penny. I think I would need to tag along when a friend or a family goes for bidding and witness the uncovering process myself so as to truly believe.
