Using Craigslist To Find Auctions

I tried this just a few minutes ago and I was pleasantly surprised by the result!

When you go to your local craigslist site, type in "auction" in the search on the main page. Once the results come up, use your computer's search function (CTRL+F) and type in "auction" again. This will weed out any ads that say auction in their listing because what they're selling was bought by them at an auction, etc. I was able to find a couple of storage auctions using this that isn't advertised through the typical sites or through a popular newspaper.

You can also toggle the search to community and events using the dropdown at the top of the page. But the for sale/wanted pages seem to have the most information.

I was able to find a TON of antique auctions, household auctions, estate sales, etc. using this method.

Since I've opened the shop, I've been more selective with what I buy, and I haven't bought as many lockers. This is mainly due to space, but also my level of criticism has gone way up. I don't want to sell the crappy units, even though that's what I've been selling at the flea market. So I've been attending more local piece auctions. Takes a hell of a lot longer, but it also gives me an education on the value of items. So even if I don't buy much (I always buy SOMETHING) I'm getting good lessons.
