Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Okay... I got busy with LIFE

i find that anything under about $30 or so accumulates like mad. clothing, nick nacks, home decor, toys, games, small electronics. these are all liabilities that can make you tons of money if you dont waste time piecing them out one by one

i dunno about that. You learn tons more by actually bidding and buying. I'd go right in guns blazing and at least get 1 unit. Its easier than bidding online id say. Hes bought 20 units, im not saying buy a $2000 unit but man, i cant imagine going to an auction and passing on a deal

that truck piece was all setup crap. still entertaining though

i'd say not so much. Mainly because generally if someone is doing it part time like that they wont get teh locker if its any kind of decent. I went to $300 on a military locker, one that i would have gone 3x that. The only bidders there were new guys with no idea and running a budget. I actually did let them get 1 locker, and it wasnt a bad deal for him.

111
i would not have done that. I'm the guy that said i was bidding on my own unit hehehehehe

112
id move to soft close, you want max $ on auctions or youll get no facilities willing to use you. auctionzing is having that problem. I bid on them would have won them all but they pulled them because they didnt go high enough

anything worth under $30 i run through the auctionhouse. generally $1000-$2000 per week. Mostly in box and tub lots but they really decide that for me which is fine by me

nice area for auctions. Maybe try to hit some of the auctions on the outskirts. I always hit the ones away from nashville to get better prices

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: When to say it must go?

i allow myself 600 square feet of space, thats IT, I price things to where it will sell before that space fills up. Stuffed animals and lower end clothes all get donated, i dont even mess with it. Any dollar items get thrown in a box and sent to the auction house, anything $30 or more goes to craigslist or ebay depending on size, anything $2-$29 goes in my shop/yard sale/flea market. If i get tired of seing something it goes to the local auction house. Items are not worth what you think theyre worth, they are worth what people will pay. If people arent paying, either the price is too high or your ad is written wrong. Just my opinion on how i do stuff.
