New to Storage Auctions? / Re: Won bid then denied purchase
« on: February 23, 2013, 12:19:55 PM »
Ive had a couple customers pay up their units after i won them but before we got back to the office to pay . Ive seen 2 units at public a year or 2 ago get pulled because they went to high

LOL I saw one unit sell for $2500 or so get pulled , and sell the following month for $ 450 same guy won it both times

I Have 3 of glendons books, I was already going to auctions when I got them and I picked up 1 or 2 tips anyway.

the manager of the place i was storing my stuff at told me they were having one and I should check it out . This was back in 2006. Wound up buying a unit of someone i went to high school with , had a blast going through it and was hooked .

if they ask for 10-20% off asking price i give it to them , if they ask for 80-90% off i ask them to leave

Craigslist / how far do you go testing appliances before selling them
« on: February 11, 2013, 07:08:36 PM »
how much do you test your appliances and how do you test things like washers dryers and stoves which require more than a 110 outlet ?

ive been giving them away or selling them for dirt untested , Id like to up my prices but really havent got a clue how far i should go testing these things
fridges are no problem , but id hate to sell a gas dryer and have the damn thing blow up the new owners house up

any thoughts ?

Ive had great luck with toys in the winter as long as they are keep the kids busy , quiet , and out of the parents hair , type of toys

133
Ive been doing this since 2006 and havent seen one of these auctions yet

134
I think I paid $3.89 last time I bought gas . It doesnt really affect me a whole lot for the auctions as its rare I drive more than 30 miles round trip even on the caravans
