Tonight's the night and I have to say I beat these guys to the punch this time.....

Will recap it later...no surprises in one way though....THEY ALWAYS DO WELL !

I am in the same boat as this person. My entire life was auctioned off illegally.Yes illigeally. I was given no notice or even a change to stop it. I would love someone to help me find the person who purchased my locker in Valencia CA, on October 13. I don't care as much about the material items I just want my memories. My kids pics, my wedding pics. Please can anybody help me. I am devestated. You can laugh but I am serious. Will anyone please help me.  It was @ Valencia Self storage.

I think the simple answer to each of your questions has been provided in the forum a number of times.

The GENERAL rule is that one would like to double one's money spent. Spend $50 hope to sell $100, etc.
What amount of time that might take is an open question that probably doesn't have one answer.

A lkr I bought two months ago for $350 has generated about $1900 in profit which is terrific, but I still have both small and LARGE items from that lkr; looks like I will have to cut prices on the big stuff to get it to move, or just keep storing it and advertising it at the prices I have now.

Many of the regular sellers here have talked about turning over product quickly to make room for new product. That works, but frankly I don't mind holding on to something for a while to turn a few more bucks on it.

When it comes right down to it, all the research in the world won't give you the answers to any questions faster than just doing it with all the guidance you've gotten to any given point. There are always new lessons to learn.

Edit:

My best year was 2006 when my year end figure was 2.78 (thereabouts) x the money. This year (year to date) I am running at 1.75.

Since I buy typically from $25 to $1,000 or so quite a range is represented, but generally speaking I will spend $350 to $700 on a regular basis and again expect (or hope) to double the money on any given lkr.

Did this thread just get real....this should be a fun one to follow!

I'll just fall back on my reply #4 in this thread ..... six months ago.

The man can do whatever he wants just as any of us can. His output just isn't for me.  ;D

Dang Movieman all the nice lockers must be out in Cally.  I've only seen 3 really nice lockers out of a good 100+.

Well, I'll have to admit there have been some good ones lately and I even got two of them 8 weeks apart....a record !

The one I spoke of above (my friend got for $1125) looked exceptional...after we got inside, but the big sofas, tires, mattresses toward the front discourgaged me....good for him though !

Thanks also for the coin comments....that will help me too.

When I look through pennies, I basically do this:

- 1943 steel cents - worth 2-5 depending on condition

Thanks for the basic info...I'll use it to check out the pennies.

As regards the 1943 steels, is that 2-5 in CENTS or dollars? (I think I know the answer, but let me know will you?)

2712
The information you seek should be here:
bestcoin.com/jefferson-nickels-38-64.htm
bestcoin.com/1943-steel-cent.htm

Thanks alloro... I'll check them out. I have several coin value books (including one from this new lkr) but they always seem to be a couple of years out of date (though I suspect the value of a coin wouldn't change much).

I have no doubts of beating such a rap in a court of law, but am more concerned with the moment at hand when the police show up. Can they legally arrest the one that won the auction?

I doubt it would come to that; after all the buyer of the lkr made the purchase in good faith and if the buyer has a history with the property mgr and/or auctioneer it wouldn't be a stretch to have them speak on your behalf in that regard.

The 1943 S is worth a few bucks depending on the condition. The nickels aren't really worth anything based on those grades. Unfortunately nickels were only silver during WWII.

Given your "few bucks" comment you can bet I will be looking at all those pennies with a magnifying glass...just one more "job" to take on, but a buck or so each for maybe a few of them, would be worth the time I guess.
