personally i would recommend putting an email address over your pic instead of a trademark type logo like a symbol.

Like this:

And see note below pic:

This corner approach would be easy to get rid of; a better solution would be a watermark at a diagonal
across the entire main body of the pic.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: Bomb Scare at locker cleanout !
« on: July 21, 2011, 08:59:24 AM »

Went back yesterday to finish cleaning out my unit around the corner from the "bomb" unit.

The property mgr came out and said that when the bomb squad arrived they decided they needed the "robot" to pick up the grenade.

45 minutes later the robot arrived from another city. When it got there they decided one of the humans could just drop it in the padded tank to take it out somewhere to blow it up.

I guess they want to take every precaution in a case like this, but it sure tied up some time and the prop mgr was ticked she was locked outside her facility from 6 pm to  8:30 pm ! Glad I was just getting ready to leave when the first cop showed up.

2nd episode tonight..7 20 2011.

Some nice lockers for each of the competitors.....Jarrod and wife starting to spend some money on bigger, better lockers.  One good find in a box..a nice vintage camera.

Dave gloats (as usual) about his purchase of vending machines....in my area they go for $250 for 6 or more in a lkr.
(at end of show he claims around $30K value for all of them).

Barry....yee-haw...finds some western gear.

Darrel.....the report is still out on him...last thing I heard him say was he needed to stop worrying about Dave Hester !

Warning: this post has "spoilers" if you haven't seen the episode.

It's official, SW tonight, 7 20 2011 in Victorville, CA with Barry getting a guitar and taking it to.....Arrowsmith !

More later.

Barry getting ready to open his locker...pulling plastic off something that looks like a white couch..... he finds guitars in the cushions.

Dave paid around $2750 for a lkr that Jarrod wanted....looked to me like Jarrod was just running him up; A double door frig and a pet kennel being the two things that Dave said made it the whole household....have to be a good one to clear the "nut" then make some profit. I would have gone $800 given my quick TV look!

Darrell finds a skull radio....I'm going to guess the TV value will be.....$400 !

Dave says he can get $700 or so for the frig....in my area $400 would be good. Just found something heavy (commercial break).

***

The clock if an original Oswald from the 30s would be $1500...not original case...worth $150.

Dave pulls out a rusty old pedal car.....in old market $1500....today's market as is...$400.

Barry strikes some GOLD with his guitars and amp !

On to the 2nd NEW episode !

I've only had one bad experience that I remember. I sold a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses with everything OK on glasses and case. Person said it wasn't as advertised. I tried to fight it, but eBay wouldn't help. Lost item and what they paid. I did so well on the lkr I didn't fight it; that was 1 out of 850 or so sales, so not a bad average.

Stories about Storage Auctions / Bomb Scare at locker cleanout !
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:59:01 PM »
Starting cleaning out a unit I bought today and took a break to walk around to another buyer's lkr.

He showed me (on the ground) a HAND GRENADE he had found in the lkr. Didn't have my camera or I would have taken a pic. The grenade was olive green, looked like a pineapple about 5" long. The plug in the bottom didn't look original but top looked real AND the pin was not in the mechanism.  He had already called the cops.

They arrived about 15" later and after looking at it they called the bomb squad and we all had to leave the premises !

Probably inert, but they weren't taking any chances.   ???

Went to an auction today and crowd wasn't bad....I think I counted  28. They had 10 lkrs and most weren't too much to look at.

I got a 10 x 15 at what I thought was an OK price, but a little less would have been better! Just starting to get into it and if anything outstanding I'll report back.

Highlight of the day can be found at the link below and deals with an explosive device !

Well, it's July 19 and I just watched the Ontario, CA episode where the boys buy a big blue item that moves like a bat out of hell....I got one just like it last week....wait, that was a dream I had !

As usual the guys score big time with some old cameras in one and the big blue machine in the other.

The blue item unbelieveable (IMHO) but what do I know !

****

Now the next 1/2 hour is in MA. Will come back and update after it's over.

I was on the computer while this show was on and didn't pay much attention. They didn't actually GET a TANK, but they got to drive one !  Reconfirms that I have more interest in Storage Wars than AH. Storage Wars summer season start Wednesday, July 20....tomorrow !

OK, I've seen a little bit of everything and the ones I remember I would just as soon forget.

This thread is for posting PICTURES of what people wear to auctions; I hope I'm not the only one to contribute.

Only one requirement: pics you post here have to be at storage auctions, not things you've found on the internet.
Doesn't take much to do that, especially with cell phones today.

Here's a start with a comment beneath the picture.

This couple bought a 5 x 5 clothes locker today and I think the matching outfit shown here came in a lkr last week.

The Lounge / Re: Did Casey Anthony kill her daughter?
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:37:51 AM »
And now she will be hunted down by paparazzi....this may be a money maker for some enterprising entrepreneur who wants to soak some money into detective work before coming out on the positive side.

NBC reported this morning (7 19 2011) that one of her attorneys had given her $70K some months ago. She left jail with $570 or so of "earned" money.

The same attorney owns a plane which was shown to have left one spot in Florida, flew to another Florida landing, then on to California where it made 2 or 3 stops. Casey could be anywhere along that route IF she flew in that plane.

Remember "Where is Waldo?"  This is the 2011 version.
