Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: dishonest auctioneer!
« on: October 25, 2011, 08:43:52 AM »
We were at an auction several years ago and one of the bidders started asking us questions about them , and stated that He was here with enough cash to win his friends locker for Him ,as He was in jail  as it had a full Snap on roll a way in it .                                                                                                                 It was a 10 X 20 packed full , and when they cut the lock , His face went white , as there was an obvious empty space right in front of the door .
He did win it , and was going to go straight to the police station and file a complaint .
We never heard any more , and refuse to  go to any auctions at any  " Older ,  Single Owner Storage Locker's "  located in " The Gateway To Cape Cod " .

Feel free to visit us here in Mass. but Please leave Your Sling Shots and Rubber Nun Chucks in Pa. , I would rather chat with You here , then in person while You were " Staying " Locally .   ;D
I have a friend from the USCG that lives in Pa. next to a State Shooting Range , while at a sportsmens banquet and sitting with the Mass. Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Commissioner , I asked Him why We couldn't do something like that here in Mass. .
I can't repeat his answer after he wiped off his tie .   LOL

Also take Your Machete out of the trunk , as my local Yahoo State Representative has been filing every year for the last 4 yrs. , a bill banning the possession  and ownership of a Machete .
Those requiring one for clearing brush etc. would have to obtain a permit and pay a fee .
When this idiot sees Me coming , at any town functions on the common , he heads for the Porta Potty

The Fri.  I posted them on Craig's , a   nationwide mortgage company in the area closed there doors , and offered all there furniture, 4 floors full  for FREE ( No Computers ) and would assist You in loading it just show up Sat. between 9 to 4 .    >:(
What friends didn't want , I ended up scrapping ( My locker was located next to a scrap yard LOL )

On the restaurant unit , I would of quietly asked the  Manager if it was possible to rent the unit , or did they have it all ready rented out ?
When I was bidding on the one 30 footer and ended up winning all 3 from the same person .                   He offered Me 30 days to clean it out , and we rented the last one   for 15 days more .
We condensed them as fast as we could ( Dump Runs etc. ) and just sold the heavy stuff  right out of the unit's and took a dump run and a load to our storage locker each time we were there .
He also offered us a couple of other units that didn't sell , and let us go through them first .

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Two auctions today and no lockers for.

I was at an auction a couple of years ago , and there were two lockers with bar bells  and an exercise machine , plus one with just a large metal cabinet and the usual crap in each .
This auction was in an old converted factory , and You would of had a really long walk out of the building , the 8 of us all laughed  when He asked for $ 25 each .
He thought I was joking when I asked if that was what they were willing to pay us to take it , as it wasn't enough . The manager asked how much would be enough ?  7 of us walked out together .

Here in Taxachusettes I wouldn't put anything past the local Law.                                  Ex.  If You find an empty  22 cal shell , and they find it in Your Possession , thats good for 1 yr.  of Free room and Board .    >:(
Several years ago , our storage locker in Holliston was broken into along with about 8 others , the police were only concerned with checking the units for drugs ,                     " because , no one randomly breaks into lockers , they must of known something was here , just not sure which one it was in "
Must of been a really dumb dog , he didn't find the containers of fire works .    ;D

The 72 hour mad dash for the cash , was filmed over a 3 week period .
Jimmy Dorsey along with the rest of the crew was never paid , unlike the Hoffmans who were  well compensated before they even left home .
When Jimmy asked the Discovery Channel where His Money was ?  They replied No Signed Contract , No Money .  =  Not bound to keep His Mouth Shut , with the end result being , His Blog

We had one unit a few years ago that had all of the young couples  school year books , wedding pic's and video , plus Her wedding dress all sealed up .
There were a ton of letters with a lot to Her aunt , who was very close to Her by the letters , that lived less than a mile from Us . We called the aunt and told Her that We had an won the auction of Her Niece's storage locker  and offered the aunt all of there personal stuff .
She hung up on Us ?
We did find His court papers and Her Diploma from RN. School   ( were thinking drugs took them down )

Ps
