The Lounge / HyperLoop or HyperLoopy?
« on: August 13, 2013, 09:47:08 AM »
This print story tells about a potential new transportation system being developed by the fellow who developed the Tesla car and launched the first commercial space connection to the space station.

This is also a video story on the Today show, 8 13 13.

Here's the print story:

Reality Shows about Storage Auctions / Is Storage Wars Texas Still On?
« on: August 13, 2013, 09:40:11 AM »
I haven't seen "boo" about this show on the forum in I can't remember when.

Is it still on with original episodes or are they all reruns?  Are reruns even running?

Inquiring newbies want to know !

Guess which Storage Wars cast member this is. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out especially if you consider the date.

Not a clue; some kid who grew up and achieved "fame" on a tv show.

Edit:

Was it the one who killed himself because of his misunderstanding of the number "00001" on a Nintendo game?

Who? SmartStop Self Storage or Storage Bungles?

Both, and any others as well; virtual storage auctions out of Texas has not been seen in the central valley of California, I think there were two in southern California.

Whether they face forward or backwards is irrelevant, they're all Swastikas.

Edit: my original response to this was intended to go in another post; I mistakenly clicked on the respond button for this one.  If you want to see the original text which was entered here you can see Travis' response below where he quoted it, unless he has removed it by the time you read this. My response didn't make any sense for the swastika issue and neither will his drum roll...though it would in the corrrect thread where I have made MY addition.

To annoy you! :P

Too bad it didn't work !  ;D

There are several forums about buying storage auction lockers. Why did you choose this one?

Is it your primary or secondary source for information?

Love them or hate them..... pays to read about them.

In my area they are pretty much a flop.

You read right...this is anticipated to go for $1 million plus.

Wait 'till you hear when the buyer found it.

Those are definitely not swastikas.

The ones shown on his linen (in blue) are what was considered the original swastikas from ancient times; the ones used by Hitler are reverse swatiskas but THEY are the ones people THINK of as swastikas.

Not really sure why a regular would dump $1,300 on unknown boxes without visibly seeing anything else of value.

He buys far and wide (90 miles one way away from home), buys a lot, usually makes good buys...BUT he is also a bit of a gambler (and not just in lockers) and this time he got stung. He was free to admit it and as I said it scared him off his next big opportunity which was duked out by two other buyers to the tune of $1,500.

I have my eye on one in a week or so that I already think I would go to $1,000 on, but will have to wait for a second look. It was closed down on us a couple of months ago on a technical issue, but is coming back up. Hope the other guys have forgotten about it...or at least SOME of them.

Today I talked to one of the regulars who also sells at the flea market where I sell. He told me he got stung for $1,300 at a Public Storage a few weeks ago. That outfit is honest in our part of the country, but apparently some renter set this up for one reason or another or just left all the trash behind but neatly stacked. It was all boxes and some other stuff. He didn't say how neat it appeared but when he got into it, it was a disaster.

It's one thing to get taken for a few hundered, but that 1.3K hurt !  It made him shy of buying a 1.5K a week or so later that actually turned out good with all WWII era stuff inside. Oh well, once bitten, twice shy.

It's a symbol of peace and love. It is shunned in the west due to a lack of understanding of the Swastika's true origins and meanings.

right....because it did'nt really become known until Hitler's use and beyond that no one took the time to tell the difference from one to the other.
