Craigslist / Re: Having trouble selling items
« on: August 26, 2011, 10:24:42 PM »
Well today this guy came and looked at the craftsman tool box with tools galore. He offered me 100 less than I wanted cause the box has some rough spots on it. Forget that its only listed at 250. He said that hes buying it for some lady that is a hobbiest and she is putting it in her front room so it has to look really good. So I figured I would completely restore the box by sandblasting the whole thing use my body repair kit and get rid of all the dents paint it all black with my air painter clean all the tools making them shiny and.putting new padding in the drawers then raising the price to 400... Should I or should I just leave it as I got it and hope for the best? It would only take time and a few dollars as I only need paint and padding. Any input from anyone would be great as ive already lowered prices for the weekend and flea market is on monday morning where I hope to be selling all my things.

Good idea acman with the keywords I will try adding more and see if that works.

some items i am selling for as cheap as possible like the ac unit miter saw and other items but others like the electronics i am just now as i write this posting them on ebay to see what happens and since it is free listings i can post as many as i can. but then other items like the toolbox and other tools i am trying to sell them for what a little under what there worth but still with no luck.

and you know its kind of hard to go to auctions with no money and specially since my vehicle is on empty i cant get to the auctions even to just look. but hopefully i will make the money back here in a few days.

I usually use as many of the pic postings I can on CL. I do live in michigan where people dont have much money. Mostly what im trying to sell is tools some electronics like a fluke meter and credit card machine. I cant even get a bite on those not even spam lol. The road cones and the holloween items are sold though they were dirt cheap.
I can lie but I dont like to I just dont say anything unless they ask and so far no ones asked.

I repost every couple days in 3-4 different areas. Tomorrow when I go to use the free wifi at mcdonalds I will post in the barter and also try to sell it as a lot also. And maybe also ebay.

I know it pays to be patient buying lockers... But does it pay to be patient selling items or should I just keep trying to sell it everywhere or just master one thing before I move to another area for selling?

Craigslist / Having trouble selling items
« on: August 25, 2011, 05:29:28 PM »
Im having a lot of trouble selling on CL. My pops keeps telling me to be patient and in due time tjings will sell in a month or so. I just keep telling him if I dont sell the items fast I cant get another locker and all im doing is losing money. What should I do to get items moving faster. I just lowered, the price on most everything by about 40%-50%. Anything else I can do. I already made my money back on the unit also? Should I lower it more and lose more profit just so I can get money to buy another lkr or what should I do. Any help would be great thanks.

Tc I must agree with you. Even with my first lkr I know the first two values just those last two are hard to figure out and still make good money.

As for the show a live episode would be great to see. But I love to watch the show cause I know in units out there what AH finds in the lkrs there are those items plus better items worth hella more. So its just a little booster to keep this up.

Flea Markets / Re: flea market noob
« on: August 24, 2011, 03:50:07 PM »
The only two things I dont mind sitting on right now is the craftsman tool box full of tools and the fluke multimeter as I know what I can truely get out of them and im not going to shorthand myself that money which I know I can get at least 250-300 for the toolbox and at least 100 for the fluke meter. But I know what yall mean by selling cheap to make a quick profit to buy the next unit. Im going to do that.

Flea Markets / Re: flea market noob

Well the place I go is on monday mornings. Its first come first gets spot. Farmers/flea market. They sell everything from clothes to antiques to animals to food and everything. Its set up in a big horse shoe with people in the middle and its all outside. Tuns of foot traffic everywhere. I was just curious about prices since the only things I see selling for a lot are the many of guns. But since I do live in michigan and not many of people have much money I was lookin into lowering my prices. Since I have already made my money back selling a king size cheapo bedroom set and taking back a new brake rotor still in box the rest is just profit. But spots are 5 dollars and about the size of a parking spot plus trailer you can sell on so there good size.

Good point copia. I know even if I lower prices I will triple my money easily. So im just going to lower prices to move them faster. Ive already missed a few auctions I wanted to go to.

Flea Markets / flea market noob
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:35:15 AM »
i have been trying my hand at craigslist and cant seem to sell much as in my areas not many people have money. but after my first unit i dont have many items that are low priced most the things i have are 50-200 dollars easily and theres about 15 items or so of that and only a handful of items that are on the cheap end.

i guess my question is... is it reasonable to sell my high priced items at flea markets or how should i go about doing that? i was thinking just going to them with a certian price on them but also have a sign that says make offer to try and get rid of these items so i can go to more auctions faster.

any advice on this would be helpful or if someone could let me know a good place to sell these high value items fast would be great also.

well i just got my first unit friday. it was a silent auction which i figured i would bid to low on and not get a unit. well i bid 160 and i won the unit. going through it it had a craftsman toolbox full of tools a fluke multimeter 2 electric kid cars bedroom set nice shape, 2 credit card swipers one manual one electronic parts for a ditch digger brand new car parts still in box with tags a safety harness with the lanyard. all together theres about 1400 dollars worth of items so we will see how fast they sell and what the total profit is. but i am no longer a locker virgin hehe

yall seem to have decent luck selling on CL. whats the key to it all? i have to sell things for dirt cheap so i am not even making a profit on anything in fact i almost have to pay people to take the items. i been trying to sell a queen pillowtop mattress and box springs both simmons for 125 new over 1000 a couple years ago in near perfect condition been for sale for 2 months. also a complete set of stainless steel fitted brake lines for an 84ish camaro new still in box for 120 new over 200. plus i have them listed in 3-4 different areas.

whats the key as i really need to know so i can get more money for auctions. i am down to 160 which i am going to try and get a locker with on tuesday. let us know how to move things oh masters of auctions.
